We have quite a few birthdays coming up. For my daughters birthday parties we have gone with store bought in the past. Do you have a preference?

Well with my kids, I will buy store bought cakes. Why? I have no clue as to how to make their cakes.. Food Lion in Sumter makes some delicious cakes!

I would love a personal touch and bake a cake myself. Even if it doesn't come out well, I've put love into the mix. Usually, however, I buy one from the store. If we are having guests over, I don't want them to make fun of my cooking!

Cake is a must in almost every birthday celebration in our society. Whenever any of the family members is having birthday celebration I usually buy the birthday cake from the nearby cake house. I normally don’t bake cake at home as it is quite time consuming and it makes the kitchen messy as well. I love the birthday sold in the shop as there are lots of varieties of well designed and good quality cakes.

We are kinda past the birthday years for our kids. They would rather spend time with their friends. They are 19, 20, and 26 years old. We do have a 2 year old grandson and I made his 1st bithday cake. I, myself prefer the satisfaction of baking and decorating a birthday cake myself. I also appreciate someone else's hard work at a homemade cake. I think that the taste is better and it is much moister.

I would much rather eat a cake that I bought from the store or a deli. The icing tastes alot better and the cake is alot moister also. I baked a yellow cake the other day and put creme cheese icing on it and it just does not taste very goiod to me. It is alot better for someone else to bake it and decorate it also. I always bake my husbands though and decorate it with plastic hunting stuff.

Always store bought. First of all we always need two, since my children have the same birthday and one is a boy and one is a girl. Their birthday is hectic enough, without having to actually make cakes. Besides they like picking out their individual theme, cake flavor and filling. Not to mention with two, there are always alot of people at the birthday party and all that more people to feed.

For me it really depends on IF I am in the moodto bake or if I even have the time. If I dont have the time to sit there and bake it then we will go to the store and buy it. But if I have the time and drive to do so I will bake it myself.

I usually bake birthday cakes, but I do occasionally buy them. If I am going for a pretty cake then I buy it because while my cakes usually taste really good they are not all that pretty.

I do both depending on the money supply. We tend to like the store bought cakes alittle better but the home made cakes are more personal. Last year i made birthday cupcakes. They werepretty good.

Home baked can be amazing, but some stores have that frosting that is to die for. I remember in Ny, Quality is where we went for cakes. I think they even make wedding cakes, so the store was one of the best around for cakes :) But my brother always loved the store bought ice cream cakes, something about those drove him nuts :)

When my kids were young, I would always make them their own unique cakes. I'd decorate them with jelly beans, marshmallows, M&M's, Hershey's Kisses, whatever was their favorite. I made some that looked like cars or trucks using Oreo cookies for wheels, snowmen, etc. They loved them! But since then, as life got more hectic (and I got older), I started buying store bought cakes and personalize them in some way, using their favorite candies or cookies, things like that. It has always been fun.
