What's a lomo cam?

I've seen an exhibit of photos taken with lomo cams....And they're really nice pictures!! the colors are vibrant...the lighting is so different... So what's a lomo cam. Forgive my ignorance but can someone enlighten me regarding this?Thank you in advance:) I also have a sample of a lomo shot...it looks really nice right?

It takes a set of pictures,usually 4 over a period of time to capture a action.They normally have multiple lenses to put 4 images onto one picture.
