Embarrassment at the counter!!

I went to Lidl to buy a bunch of bananas. I only brought my coins which was about 88p and I already know my favorite bananas were less than 80p. The sign said, "Loose Bananas 77p" and I didn't read further. I picked the biggest bunch and when the cashier checked for the price it showed 99p. I said it was only 77p on the sign. But I was told it was 77p PER kg. Can you imagine my embarrassment as I told the cashier I didn't have enough coins? He asked how much I had and took only 80p. Whew, I bet you never had this experience.

ANyway, not a bad day really,But I can feel it, i will be embarrassed too and will walk as fast as I could going out..LOL, Anyway, I have tried that while in a public transportation, I found out that I left my wallet and I ask th driver to wait as I was looking if I got some friends around, good thing, I saw one and ask her some money to pay the cab.

It's good there were not many people and the one next to me was a boy. Also it was almost time for closing. I was really thankful though. Whew!

Well, I'm glad if all of us will think it is a lesson. I might get scoffed at for my lack of sensible judgment bringing only coins when going shopping.

I make the same mistake yesterday. I have too much product i want to buy and i suddenly remember that it's not enough money in my pocket so i have to stop him for do scanning machine. and i said, " I think i haven't got enough money for that yet, i'll come back later to buy that one.." So you aren't the only one.

Thanks, you make me feel better. But at least they haven't scanned all your items before you say you don't have enough money.

wowww..., that is really embarassing... fortunately, the cashier is kind enough to give the bananas to you... but things like that always happen and it happens to me as well... so it is alright... that's why i learn to be more careful nowadays when i go shopping... take care and have a nice day...

You bet. From now on I will always bring extra money and read the sign very carefully. Thanks for this mistake, I have learned another good lesson.

yes I know it is embarrassing and I have even put back a 300 order because I forgot my wallet with my money in it, or had to put back half the stuff because I did not have enough money on me

Well, I guess we can consider this thing as one of the spices that make our life more interesting. If things are always perfect I think life would be boring.

What do you mean it wil have happened many times before? I used to always bring extra money just in case and this was my first experience. Just when you are not prepared, it catches you.

I have haqd to deal with this in the past also. I have bought loose items and read the sign exactly how it said. I got to the checkout counter with my loose items and by the time they weighed them and added them all up, I didn't have enough money and had to put some of the items back. I was very embarrassed also.

Oh, that's very good indeed. I'm glad the cashier treated you as nice as that. On my way home I was thinking that maybe the cashier would take some pennies in his pocket to replenish that. Anyway, please don't be confused, by pound I mean £ and not the weight. So for one kg is 77 pence which is about $1.5o isn't it?
