I have 4 hummingbirds that nest in my yard. I know they nest over in the trees at the edge of my yard and later in the summer i have more little hummingbirds.
I love watching them so I have a feeder hung out on my deck for them. I like Sitting and reading a book on the deck while they come to eat. They are quite aggressive and one pair will chase the other pair off If they wish to feed.
A while back i had one sit 2 feet away from me on my clothes line and watch me for a while.
Do you have them? Do you enjoy them? If they are around do you put out a feeder or plant the flowers they like?

I do not see hummingbirds in Kansas. I did as a girl growing up in Oklahoma. I would be more likely to plant colorful flowers that hummingbirds like, because I have heard that putting red sugar water in the feeders is not good for them. I guess honey water would be okay, though. You must really enjoy them. I do have finches, chickadees, cardinals, blue jays, robins and lots of other birds that visit my yard.
