I gave up purchasing the newspaper long ago. It is really for several reasons. First, it bothers me to see so much that goes into paper processing and I am really a protector of the earth. Secondly, the internet keeps up with the news changes so much faster and better. I do miss the coupons that come with the wednesday and sunday papers though.

Same here. So many trees are chopped for papers of all sorts. Plus I like the fact that the online newspapers are so much more up to date. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Occasionally I still do. Nowadays, like probably the majority of people online, I get my news online. I would usually go to the sports section first, and now I just keep ESPN.com as my browser's homepage and immediately I have the sports news at my fingertips. Even for other news, I'll go to Yahoo! or maybe CNN.com and check it out there. Even local news can be found quicker on other sites rather than reading a paper where the deadline was in the middle of the night and some of the newer events aren't reported yet.

My wife buys the printed newspaper as she is out of the house from 10 a.m. till 11 p.m. I myself read my news online through a couple different local papers websites. Much easier and more up to date this way as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I don't buy newspapers myself but I do enjoy reading the newspaper every once in awhile. When I am at school, the lobby area of my apartment building has free newspapers available every day. So whenever I come back from class and have a chance to sit down, relax and check out the paper, I grab one and head up to my apartment and read it. They're free papers, and I get a chance to recycle them when I am finished so I don't feel guilty about reading a paper.

I never did buy newspapers. I had no need for them really. I relied more on the news or the internet for my information. I used to pick up a free paper sometimes though if I was looking for something for sale or something like that. I do get a free weekly paper but I can also find that information online also. I use the internet for alot of things these days.

I agree I get most of my news online, it is so easy to get news from places that you used to live, places that your friends live, we are from Louisiana relocated to Ohio from the Hurricane in 2005, online I get the newspaper at home which has a forun that I can look at every day and find out what progress is being made back home as to what is being rebuilt and who is coming back. I also can check the news where my friends have relocated. Online gives you news you would probably not hear of if you didn't have the internet. I wonder how the newspapers are still doing if everyone is using the internet to read the paper it has to be hurting their pocket books.

Only to look for yard sales other then that the newspaper in my town is really boring. However we do get a sunday paper from the big city and that is always interesting. I do like newspapers as long as they have interesting stories in them.

I like to go and get the local paper cause it tells me events going on for the kids to participate in. But as far as for the news I get it off the net. Or my father-in-law tells me about it LOL.

We used to get the newspaper, but not no more the price went way up, and half the time our newspaper dont have anything in it worth reading. So if I want to read something important in the news ,I just go on my computer.

Buy newspaper only several times a year. Only when there are big news. With online and podcast, reading on the paper because more irrelevant.

Hie Curious, I used to read them a lot during my student days to improve on my grammar. I gave them up when I started working and couldn't find time to read them. Moreover it gets piled up in stacks so easily and fast, occupying too much space instead. So now with this modern era of high tech, I prefer to get my news from the internet, simply fast and latest updates. Besides that we could interactively share with the people from all over the world and voice out easily, get a faster respond in any topics while in the stereotype newspapers will be definitely be screened numerous time before the message could get across. And we would never get our hands dirty again with the black ink...lol
