To all my friends...I'm having severe connectivity problems. I keep getting a message that the line is busy or that the remote server is out of order. Ive been in touch with my ISP and they were of no help. If I do get connected, I drop out within a few minutes sometimes, if I'm lucky, I get a full session...4 hours worth, it's not happening much the last 3 days. I have over 500 email alerts and I'm so busy trying to get through them. I'm so sorry...please know I'm not ignoring you - I just cannot get on. It's awful being without my internet connection and my fix of myLot. This is the worst it's ever been for me. Hope you never have the problems I'm having....please talk about this and tell us what's your worst experience being without your internet. Hugs all round, hopefully I can fix things soon. xxx

Have you tried rebooting your Modem if you have one I am only asking this because that used to happen to me and I just kept rebooting the Modem and then I would unplug it at Night when I finished on here and that sorted it out I hope you get it sorted soon as I know that is a pain in the Butt

Hi Gabs, I'm still here... The techie on the help desk said to uninstall and re-install my modem but he said it was hard to do and difficult to explain on the phone...I can't be online and also on the phone. I have no idea how to do that. I'm now using my desktop computer, it seems strange I would have the same problem with my laptop and my desktop. Thanks for your input...it's much appreciated. I'm feeling so cut off from everyone with all the probs I've been having.

Do you have a Disc to install the Modem because if you have it is not hard at all the Disc tells you step by step If you have then have a look at it as honest it is quite easy if you have a Disc

No, unfortunately, I don't. Apparently, it can be done without one but the help desk said it was too hard to explain how to do it unless he could talk me through it over the phone while I was online. Of course, with dialup, I can't do both. All was fixed shortly after I first posted and I'm now using my desk top but I got really far behind. Thankyou for the suggestion, I certainly appreciate your knowledge and thoughtfulness.

Too late mate...lol. When I posted this Wee, I was tearing my hair out, spitting chips, around the bend and up the wall!! Things got sorted...as they do...and now I'm trying to catch up. I've added lots of new friends lately as most of my early friends are not active and these new guys post up a storm...

I have been also, all last week. It would be on for 10 minutes and off an hour. They tried to tell me it was my computer. It ended up being their signal was not reaching my router.

It's got me beat why they just don't say they are having problems at their end and they expect things to be fixed in a certain amount of time. My previous ISP would do that. This dialing in then dropping out is not only frustrating but the cost of the ruddy calls adds up.

I understand how you feel without the internet MsTickle. When we moved to a new house, we had to change our ISP, and for some reason we couldn't get connected. It took them 2 weeks to sort out the problem, and I nearly went insane in that time without the internet! I was not happy! I sympathize with you and the problems you are having, and hope it gets sorted soon. What did we do before computers and the internet?

I used to work part time for one thing. I think I unconsciously caused all the changes in my life so I could stay home and be on line.... There is simply not enough time to do everything I want and need to do. I've taken on 2 new on line projects lately and I'm not sure how I'll find the time to do them. The thought of not doing myLot leaves me cold.

I know exactly what you mean - I do that - take on a couple more things online, then wonder where on earth I am going to find the time to do them! I usually end up cancelling something that hasn't been working for me - but NEVER MyLot -I am here to stay! Thanks for BR!

It's a strange feeling. I'm really anxious about how far behind I am and that I haven't been able to respond to my friend's discussions and to those who have joined my discussions.

I hope I never have that problem either. As long as we know you are okay then we will be patient with you. I know you are in withdrawal from myLot, but I do not know how to solve your internet problems.

Why thankyou Gerty...the problem was resolved late Saturday night. I also moved my desktop to the living room (where it's warm) and after a few hiccups things have been fine, I'm thinking the modem in my laptop needs to be re-installed but I don't know how to do that. It's time to catch up now. It's so hard because there are so many interesting things to do on the Web. I've undertaken 2 new projects and just trying to figure out how to have time for them.

I switched from my laptop to my desktop and after several hours, things were good. No problems since, except for a couple of dropouts. I'm sure the huge storm where my ISP is was the fault but they won't admit any responsibility. Funny how once the storm cleared up and they fixed the outages that things were fine again...hmmmm.

I do hope that your ISP gets things sorted out for you soon tickle although I know that they haven't been much help in the past. I wish you were somewhere where you had a choice of providers and a much better service! I have had a few problems in the past where my isp link has gone down occasionally for an hour or two but thankfully I have never had the problems you are! Hugs sweetheart! xxx

Sounds like the same problem we had a month a go. For us, it was our modem, but the company we have our internet through sent us a new one, and we have had no problems since. They had to send it to us as we have a 2 year connection contract and the modem is part of that. Apparently the one they gave us only had a life of about 18 months, which was pretty much spot on, so they knew they would have to send us a new one before our contract ran out.

Oh yes, it's terrible when that happens...it occurs much too often for my liking. I was told a free program called Greasemonkey can fix that problem and so I downloaded it but I don't know how to use it.
