Here is your chance to tell congress that you want them to:
1. Suspend the Federal 18.4-cents-per-gallon gasoline tax for the high-demand summer months.
2. Suspend all earmarks for one year and use the money to fund highways, bridges and other important infrastructure around the country.
3. Increase American oil production, and cut our reliance on foreign imports from unstable nations.
4. Allow U.S. refineries to expand and create more energy.

Petition signed as well as ranting about having to give up some needed utilites and going deeper in debt cause we have to pay less on bills so we can have enough money for gas between paydays. Thanks for pointing us to it, estherlou.

What I saw as I traveled over the holiday weekend made it clear that things are no better anywhere else. As soon as we got back, the price jumped another ten cents.

I signed it, but I don't expect it to do any good. Even if they suspend the tax it will still cost close to $4 per gallon and that's before they raise the prices further to make up for what we're saving. It was worth a try though. I know I can't take this much longer.
