Universial Studios is one of the coolest places in the world. I have been there several times and it is a lot of fun. I like to see all of the movie sets and go behind the scenes to see how things are made. I have to admit though, the first time I went it was disappointing. It took the illusion out of so many things that I had thought were real. It is a wonderful place for the entire family to enjoy. It is also a good place for young people to work. I have some friends who use to work there. I hope that everything will be repaired as soon as possible. A fire can be such a tragic ordeal. http://www.knx1070.com/Universal-Studios-Fire-Images/2287731

I've only been there once and it was a long time ago. I was really surprised at how interesting everything was. I've been on tours of TV studios before and it's always pretty boring. But, this place was fun and you actually get to see some of the sets they use in famous TV shows and movies. I'm sad that they lost some of the film archive there as some of those things are probably irreplaceable.

That is true, I am sure those things were irreplaceable. A friend of mine just told me that they had a fire last year also. They need to work hard to safeguard against things like that happening. It would really be a loss for Hollywood, should that entire place burn down.

One would have thought that they would have kept those things in a fireproof vault or something. I heard they were able to carry out a lot of tapes, though.

I know, seems like these things should be protected some where, since they can not be replaced. I am very happy that they were able to get a lot out on time.

Yeah the earthquake ride was one of the best rides there. It was lots of fun. We also did a viseo of our day at Universal Studios. I still have that video somewhere. The special effects were really neat also. We went for 2 days in a row to see and do pretty much everything.Of course I don't live to far away from Universal Studios. it is about a 2 hour drive from where I live.

I enjoyed learning about special effects. I also enjoyed that earthquake ride. Though I would never want to be a part of a real one that big. I hope you do get the opportunity to return.

Fires are so very sad. How close do you live to where the fire was? Could you see the flames and smoke? I was out in the LA area last Sept. visiting my Uncle. We didn't really go anyplace. He is an ole fuddy duddy, he didn't want to go anyplace. I saw some of the footage on yahoo news, the fire was huge. They also said they had a fire there before. Its scary out in Cal. with the dryness and the fires.

No, it is no where near me, thank God. The last fire we had over hear, the smoke nearly killed me. I had an asthma attack because I could not breathe. I have always hated fires, since I was a child. They just cause way to much destruction for me. We do seem to have major fires every year because of the dryness. I have never been affected by them. But it would be nice if they could do something to prevent the fires from happening.
