Bala, whenever I suffer from low self esteem I weigh myself for my weighing machine has an all time problem with the scale. It shows less that I actually weight.lol.. How are you doing?

..sorry for the typo in the last line (pls read weigh). Yes, my weighing machine actually does keep my sanity when things go wrong with me. Good for my mom, she is the one who suffers for I just drive her nuts. I am good with lots and lots of ice candies and junkies. Another motivator..lol..

A body can fluctuate in weight as much as 2 pounds during a day so I weigh myself at least twice if not three times a day to make sure I am eating the right things and am keeping to my workout/diet. Great question Zelo

I do not believe that it is a good idea to weigh yourself a lot when trying to lose weight. It can be very discouraging if you are jumping on and off the scale every day. I believe I have heard professionals say that you should not even keep a scale in the house when trying to lose weight.

I weigh myself about once per week. I am trying to lose some weight but have not lost any so far, LOL. I am trying to watch what I eat and trying to be a bit more active since summer is here now. I have not lost one pound yet though. I wish I hadn't bought a scale sometimes because it is very depressing when I get on there and have not lost any weight ot gained another pound.

Hi Balasri-I have given up weighing myself at home as and when I go I ask the dr to weigh me at the moment he thinks my weight is ok-but about one and half years ago I was very slim in size 10 clothing but am now a size 14-so am hoping that it will stay there bt my weight tends to fluctuate so could be lighter by xmas which is normally what happens your friend littleowl

Well, it is very important to maintain a good body weight. From what I understand being overweight may bring forth a lot of health problems. First and foremost is the risk of having a heart disease. Our heart will be exerting more effort if we are overweight since it needs to pump blood with more pressure to sustain the needs of our body. Thus, being overweight can always overworked the heart. This will later lead to heart disease.

How often do I weigh myself? Never!! Actually, that's a bit of a lie. It's always hard to balance a rucksack on scales, so when I occassionally fly I weigh myself with and without the bag to check it's weight!

checking your weight out regularly can be bad or good. it really depends on the person. some people will get easily depressed when they see after all their hard work they still havent lost even a pound or worst even gained some! [not thinking they gained muscle which is heavier than fat] some people can get easily inspired once they see they gained some pound. so really that depends on you do you get easily depressed or inspired? why dont you find out now go and hop on the retched scale!

I am 45 and in great shape but trying to keep myself there is getting harder. I weigh myself every morning and I find that it really helps. Others may not agree with me but if the scale tips a pound or five then it tells me to go jog that day and eat less or cook myself some greens or eat egg whites or something ha ha. That is what helps to control my weight and body tone. If I didn't look at the scale every morning, I think I might get too far behind and get lazy. I might be too obsessive maybe, but I enjoy having a twenty year old body and I just don't know how horrible it would be to lose that. Maybe I'm too self conscious.

Well, I usually weight myself on a weekly basis. I'm happy to report that I lost a great of weight thanks to a soup diet that I'm doing. I only need to loose about 15 pounds more. I feel that I'm back to having the same energy that I had when I was younger.

I weigh myself everyday. I am on a diet and i like to check every day as to what I weigh. You do lose a couple of pounds over night so morning is the best time to weigh yourself, so if you weigh in the evening you will always weigh a coiple of pounds extra. I like to stay a certain weight and i find this helps me with my eating habits
