I mailed my tax paper's in mid March.According to a person I talked with at the IRS,I was told I would receive $900 and since I filed for direct deposit I would receive it on May 8th.On May 8th it did not receive my payment.I looked online at IRS.gov and it said that I would receive the payment on the 9th.The next day I still did not receive my payment. On the following Monday morning I called the IRS and was told that they never received my paperwork and that I was to keep checking during the next 2 weeks to see if it was received yet because I had to wait the complete 8 weeks to re file.If it still was not there then I had to re- file.Which I did and a week later I called them to see if they had received it.I was told that it was received, but now I have to wait till the next date (approxamatley 2 weeks) for them to give me direct deposit.I was also told that I would not be getting $900,only $600 if I had claimed a child.I said "What do you mean if I had claimed a child?" She said exactly and informed me that I did not claim my child, that her father must have.I told her that would be a cute trick if he did because he has been deceased for over 3 years! Then I was informed that I will have to wait till next year ane re-file and claim my daughter.I said that I wanted to speak to a superviser and she put it into the computer then told me that it would be within 48 hours.Well that was last Friday morning and I have received no call yet. And my son mailed his tax return in and his stimulas claim as well as I did.He moved also and called the IRS,to put in change of address and they told him that he could not phone in change of address until after his checks had already been sent to the previous address and then returned to them.My son waited and called them back and finally was told that his checks were returned. He then gave them his new address and they said that his checks were to be sent out to him on May 9th.On the 22nd he had to pay a bill and the checks were not there. Therefore he called the IRS again to find that the checks were sent not on the 9th,but the 6th to the old address. They were returned to the IRS instead of being forwarded by the postal service. He was also informed that it will take another 2 weeks to process the change of address into the computer and another 2 weeks to cut him new checks. I was at my bank today and was telling them that I was now just expecting a $300 payment in and explained what was going on and they said that the IRS has admitted that they have messed up and amounts, dates and peoples addresses are getting real messed up things. Has anyone else had problems with their return or stimulas payment?

Sorry that you have had so much trouble with this. I haven't had any trouble. I received my stimulus payment direct deposited into my account the first of May. My daughter received hers the 2nd week of May though she didn't receive the 300 for her daughter yet!

Hmmm.Did they tell her that she'd receive it later? They told me that I have to refile for it next year.

Thank you.Yeah,by my last two number's it was supposed to be direct deposited on May 9th.But,because I did not file by April 15th,according to them,I have to wait till the next date. She could not give me the date, but said that she estimates, that it is about 2 weeks. The 2 weeks is from last Friday when I was talking to her.IRS.com does not give the next dates.

From what I understand it depends on the last two digits of your social security number, so I think that be the delay but not sure I think I heard that it would be deposited at separate times.

OMG what a hassell-good luck with that! We haven't received ours yet either, and we should have been in the first batch with my husbands ss #. I went online yesterday, and it said they have no info. We sent it only a couple of days before the deadline, so that may have something to do with it. I know they got my papers, cause we had to pay and they sure cashed the check fast enough!

Wow, that sounds like a mess. I do know they ran into problems with people getting them if they went somewhere and had them done. I am sorry you are having so many problems. Hopefully you can get it all straightened out. Maybe you should go to IRS.gov and see what it tells you. Good luck.

I'm sorry they got yours all messed up. I thought they got ours messed up too because we filed electronically the first time and then had to go back and do an ammended return and had to mail the second one in. They finally mailed our ammended return the other day and then we got our stimulus check right behind it. We are still waiting on our state tax refund though. I am not sure why we have not got that yet. I guess I need to call them and see what the heck is going on. Good luck with yours.

i'm not even sure i'm getting one at all now-first i heard one thing, then another..it seemed like they changed the terms of getting one mid way through. typicalthe people who need it the most probably aren't getting one.

Iam with you there, the one's that really need it aren't getting it.I know at first I was told that I was going to get $900,then Iam told that I could get $600,but Iam only getting $300.Iam beginning to think too that they are in cahoots with the postal service. My first paperwork didn't make it there. So,I have to wait longer to get what I am getting because I did not file by April 15th.Then both my son's change of address is lost at both IRS and the post office.
