What type of shoes did you wear when you were pregnant?

What type of shoes did you wear when you were pregnant? Did your shoes help support the extra weight? Did shoes hurt your feet when you were pregnant? When I was pregnant, my belly and body was too big to be supported by mere mortal shoes, so most times I didn't wear any. And, for that reason, my feet spread out, so now I'm two shoe sizes bigger. Guess that's the body's natural way of adapting to a heavier load, just widen the feet. But, sometimes I had to wear shoes to the OB/Gyn's. So, I wore nothing but slides when I was pregnant, because my belly was too big to bend over and fasten straps or tie shoe laces. Then I found a way of slipping into my tennis shoes, fully laced up. And, that was a dream come true! LOL!

I couldn't fit in shoes when I was pregnant - seriously! I had to get a pair of sandals that only had a velcro strap going across a flat sole - the velcro only just managed to catch at either end - luckily I had both my kids in August so when my feet got to their biggest the weather was nice enough to wear those things! lol xxx

Mine was born in winter! But, it's always summer weather here, except now, when it's stormy and so so very rainy and hot.

I wore either tennis shoes or flip flops when I was pregnant. I was lucky with both pregnancies that my feet never did bother me. I know some people have problmes with their feet swelling really bad and they can't get shoes on.

Two sizes? That is unbelievable. I didn't really have a problem with my feet swelling. I just wanted to be as comfortable as possible. So, I wore a lot of flip flops. The sneakers that I did wear were the kind that you could slide your foot in and out of. To this day, I love me some flip flops. But, i just heard on the news that they are bad for your body.

Yep! Two whole sizes! But, I forgot to mention that we have stone tile floors, and so there is no cushion for the feet with all that extra pregnancy weight. Once I heard a story from this guy who said he had wood floors. And, he said that when he went to his foot doctor, his doctor told him that he needed to wear flipflops or sandals indoors, cause the wood floors would mess up his feet. That's sort of what our floors did to my feet. So, there were definitely special circumstances. I'm sure not everyone has this issue with their feet during pregnancy.

I didn't have too much of a problem with both my pregnancies and I wore flat sandals or tennis shoes. I didn't have a problem bending over and tying them either. But towards the end of my second pregnancy, my feet would swell up and slides were much easier then because I could slip them off anytime I wanted. In Indian homes, we usually walk around barefoot. So, at home, I was barefoot as usual...and my shoe size didn't change at all.

I wore nothing at all on my feet or I wore Crocs. I actually lost weight when I was pregnant with my daughter, but my feet and legs swelled up since I was working 10 hour days on my feet the whole time.

Oh, you poor thing! I feel for you. I really do. Working and pregnancy do not mix well. But, sometimes it's essential.

Why? Din't you had Cotton pump shoe which you can slip your feet easily and there are light weight also in it.Rather there are also cotton furry chappal which covers only 1/4th of the legs, which are feather weight.

I either wore tennis shoes (I kept them laced up to) or any type of slip on with stretchy sides because my feet would swell really bad. What ever i wore it had to be comfy because I hate shoes in hate first place.

Sigh! This brings back memories of when I could float away in stilletoes. Pregnancy gave me a lot but took away many things too and one of them was the confidence and comfort of walking on stilletoes. During pregnancy and since then, I can only wear soft, flat, comfortable sandal types and I must say that my entire body language has changed. I did not know before, that shoes contribute so much to our body language. I feel almost like a penguin now.

I seldom wear high heels and it's impossible for me to wear them when I was pregnant. When I was pregnant, most of the time I prefer to wear sneakers. As it seemed to be safe for me. Also it's comfortable. I love China

I wore slippers or very falt shoes which would allow for the swelling of the feet. The larger I got the more the feet would swell and I was told by the Dr to wear mainly slippers but while at work I had to wear suitable shoes. During my pregnancy I only gained 8 pounds and the baby weighed 7 pounds one ounce.

It became very uncomfortable for me to wear shoes so I just wear flip-flops. Hopefully my shoe size doesn't get bigger after this pregnancy, I'm now 7 months pregnant!

I wore tennis shoes or boots. I worked a job where I was on my feet the whole time while I was pregnant. I had a lot of issues with my feet swelling. But after I had my son, I could fit into my old shoes again. I was in a size bigger for part of the pregnancy, though. I had a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of boots in the size bigger. I put them away in case I need them again if I have more children.

I really did not wear shoes that often when i was pregnant... especially when i was in the last trimester stage... most of my shoes didn't fit me... so i opted to buy sandals without heels instead... and they are more comfortable than regular shoes... but i am glad that my shoe size came back... a few months after i gave birth... so i was still able to use my old shoes... but not the sandals that i bought during my pregnancy...

Mostly flat heeled shoes.. If they are stylish sandals, they would be flat as well. It feels so comfortable wearing these type of shoes..

I have always worn heels (average 3 inches) so throughout all my pregnancies I wore heels. This last one I gained 50 lbs, so I purchased several pairs of flats - those hurt my feet so much! I tried & tried to wear them but they hurt & I ended up getting blisters on my heels! I had even tried to go a size larger but those hurt too! Strangely I think the heels helped compensate for my belly.

Flat shoes!! not much different to what i would wear anyway. You see I'm flat footed and i find it hard to walk in shoes that have much of a heel. So being pregnant in my case didn't pose a problem in that I couldn't wear any high heel shoes/boots etc. Life with shoe wear was the same, and stil is the same.
