Usually I have a brown thumb when it comes to plants and flowers, but this year I have a flower patch that is actually blooming and looking quite beautiful. My tomato plants are looking great, too.

You're a gardner? I'm starting to be one too! However, I'm only planting things I can eat. I use to think I could not grow food cheaper than I could buy it at Wal-Mart, but that was before I saw $2.50 lb tomatoes!

Boy, you're lucky! Tomatoes are $4/lb, here. :)

I live in a rural area where many people have at least a few acres of land. Anytime the price of produce gets too high people start growing their own with some extra to sell to neighbors.

Plus, I've never tasted a store bought tomato that comes close to the great tasting tomatoes I grow myself!

It's really nice to have your own vegetables growing. I think it is really fun to watch them grow. I am growing tomatoes, basil and peppers. I plan to add some onions, and maybe another herb also.

You'll have a nice garden. So far, I haven't been ambitious enough to plant anything except tomatoes and a few flowers.

All of my veggie look great this year. I have to say that this year weather is great and it helps my veggie blooming. I think I am lucky with green or brown thumb and blooming fruits and veggie plants including peppers and strawberries. HUGS

It's great your garden is doing so well this year. Our weather is co-operating pretty well this year also. Last year it was terrible because we were in terrible drought, but this year we are getting plenty of rain.

Oh well done!!my son plante loads of seeds in his garden ,he just planted the seeds into growbags..and he was saying that they have done really well..there are loads of seedlings that hve come up..so now he is going to thin them out and let them carry on growing..its always really interesting when you plant seeds I think as you can watch them fro mthe time that they come through the compost to the time that they become a plant!!!

Thanks for your input. I find that no matter what kinds of flowers I plant I am just as anxious for them to bloom so I can see what they are going to be. The pictures on the packages almost never match what the flowers are really going to be, in my experience.

Thanks. I am using Miracle Grow on them every other day. Plus, we have had a good amount of rain lately.

Congrats! Sometimes I wonder why plants do poorly year after year and then one year they suddenly take off. My mom always used to tell me that the graves of the other flowers finally encouraged something to grow! I hope your luck continues, and enjoy your flowers and tomatoes! :)

The odd thing is I planted some flowers last year that didn't come up and they are coming up this year!

That is good. I have not been able to plant a lot this year. I had surgery recently. While I have been recovering, I have not been able to do many things that I normally do at this time of year. I am hoping to get outside more in the coming weeks.

I hope you get up and about before growing season ends. We have been having longer growing seasons in Tennessee the past few years, so I can plant things a little later in the spring or summer and they still come up.
