Do you make your own salsa or do you buy it?

I usually just buy salsa already made as it is easier. But sometimes I like making it. I use onions, tomatoes, garlic, green peppers, a bit of vinegar and salt. I dont like mine hot so I dont add hot peppers. How about you fresh or already made? Hot or mild? How do you make your salsa?

I have tried to make my own salsa but I do not know how to get the juice to turn out right. I usually just buy it from a restaurant that we really like. We pay $8.00 for a quart of salsa from them. It only lasts two days LOL. We love it. We like to eat mild salsa buit every now and the, I like to eat it hot.

If you crush just a few tomatoes at a time maybe that will help? Also perhaps tomato paste a small can. 8 bucks for a quart sounds a bit expensive especially only lasting 2 days. Dang you dont like salsa do ya? lol

LOL. We planted some tomato plants in our garden and I can hardly wait to get some fresh tomatoes off of them. they are just now starting to grow and bloom. We planted some green onions also. I will try to crush some tomatoes and add some onion and some jalepeno peppers in there too. This restaurant that we get the salsa from is awesome. You would have to try it and you would be addicted too. You would eat a quart in one or two days also LOL, if you really like salsa. their chips are one of a kind also. Have you heard of Tumbleweed Mexican Bar and Grill? That is where we buy it from.

I havent heard of it. ALthough there is alot of mexican restraunts around here-never thought about seeing if they sold salsa. Of course I like salsa but with all the salt with the chips I cant over eat. And the acid from the tomatoes-I have to be careful not to upset my ulcers

I usually buy it. I've made it before, I liked mine better, but Pace has such cool looking jars!

Pace does present a fresh look on the jar at least. I know when pinching pennies I've tried cheaper brands-they just arent as good.

I like fresh. I added my own recipe to a discussion I started about salsa if you want to check it out.I just don't like the "cooked" taste of the stuff in the jars. I like a fresh taste to my salsa. It is a matter of preferrence though so to each his own.

Do you have a link to your discussion? Everyone I've found seems to like fresh. I do too when I have time.

I purchase salsa from the store... I have not yet had the courage to make it. I like it mild to medium depending on what I am putting it on.
