Do you believe in the idiom, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

I am quite confused with this idiom. At times I agree with it and then again at times I dont. There are times when I feel that if someone hurts you or your loved ones, one must not keep quiet, but give them back good. Then when I calm down, I feel, why did I stoop so low. What is the difference between me and them. What is your opinion. Do tell, for I am heap big confused.

I'm not really sure. I have nver been to rome and do not know what they do over there. I would just be yourself and do as you feel is right. I do not think anyone knows what we should do or how we should actually act. I know what you mean though and how you feel. sometimes we just have to do whatever we think is right at the time.
