I have been working with a great guy who knows a lot about making money online. He has been a great help with me getting my website off the ground. Yesterday I sent him my website link and asked him to take a look at it. He said he loved the concept but it was not original enough. He said that everyone wants something for nothing. Which got me thinking...Is there really any truth to something for nothing? I mean even here at mylot, we have to post discussions and reply to other people to make money. So is there really a something for nothing concept? Can you really make money online by doing nothing at all???? Please help because I was just about to launch my site, and now I have to go back to the drawing board.... Is there such a thing as something for nothing when it comes to making money online?

While it would be great to get something for nothing the sad truth is if you want something you have to work for it. Ever here the expression if it sounds too good to be true it usually is? WHile I don't know what it is that you are doing on your site, if you have talked to someone who has done this kind of thing before and knows what he is talking about I would at least listen to his advice. Has he given you any other ideas, or has told you what may help? Maybe you just need to make it sound a little newer and exciting. I know its not much but hopefully this helps somewhat! Good Luck!

you are right. there is no such thing as something for nothing. and I don't know how to tell people that is what they are going to get when they join. I don't want to be dishonest with people. i mean you don't have to go out and build a house but there is some work involved. I think i am going to work on making it sounds new and fresh, because that is what i do have to offer. thanks for your help

You don't have to be dishonest about it. If you explain it to someone with passion and give great examples and ideas, people are more willing to look into it. For example, I know my Fiance being a guy isn't interested in things like the jewerly I make. But when I present it to him and tell him something like look at what I created today, don't you think it would look great with.... and think of how it will attract attention because of .... When I started making the jewelry and wanted to sell it he didn't think it was such a great idea. But because I have passion for it and can explain to him how i see it it makes more sense to him. He still doesn't have the same passion for it as I do, but he can see it more in the terms that I see it.

Well I guess it depends on which way you look at it! Time verses Money! More people are willing to invest their time for something as opposed to money for something. It appears to be more of something for nothing when you are speaking of time verses money.

i hear ya on that one. i think understanding the difference between making money online and making an income is key. in order to make a real income you have to invest in both. time and money.

Something for nothing is very hard to find these days. There are many places you can earn online without having to pay a fee for it if that is what you mean. You have to work for it though. You really don't get to sit back and do nothing.
