we can't assume that our health is always be in good condition, whether we like it or not sometimes we experience high fever or flu. what is the most common medicine you take to normalize your body temperature or cure your illness, i love herbal but if i have many works to do, i take synthetic drugs like Planax. what do you do if you have fever?

if the fever rises up to 38-39 celsius you can take paracetamol every 4 hours and a sponge bath can also lower fever..taking up more fluid such as water, soup and juices also help to bring down fever..if it turns 40 degree Celsius you can take an ibuprofen same goes with the flu..increasing oral fluid intake really helps a lot .

When I have a fever I normally just drink lots of water, take a nap, and cover myself with blanket if I feel chilly. But if a fever is coupled with headache and some muscle of joint aches I just take one paracetamol or two then drink a gallon of water. Normally I bounce back rapidly and then back to normal. I hate lying down when I'm sick because it makes me feel more sick.

I usually just take two aspirin. If the fever stays for more than a couple of days then there might be a more serious problem or if the fever goes really high. I am lucky because I rarely have a fever.

I usually take over the counter medication when I am sick. We do not have insurance to get prescription medication right now. I have never tried the herbal products. I do take vitamins on occasion also though. They help to prevent sickness and help you get over sickness sooner too.

A fever is simply the sign that my body is doing what it is supposed to be doing. I rarely take anything unless it's over 102. Then I take motrin and if that doesn't work tylenol. (Tylenol is better for fevers but I usually don't have it around so I have to try Motrin first...I always have that on hand). For my kids, I treat their fevers at 101...with motrin (same note as above). And, if it doesn't go down at all with that, I give them a tepid bath...then, if necessary, I alternate Motrin and Tylenol every couple of hours. That always does the trick if all else has failed. Also, if we have lower fevers of 100-101 that don't break on their own after a couple hours evenif they haven't gone up anymore...then I treat with the meds if we're simply feeling uncomfortable because of it.

I like the natural approach. First..a little fever is the body's way of getting rid of/burning off the infection you have, so I don't always think it is good to get rid of it. People are too quick to look for an easy way to get rid of everything. We take too many medicines we don't need.If it's over 102 in an adult, I would. (104 in a kid.)Forget the Tylenol, etc.. But sometimes you get worn down from a fever and need to sleep. Then, I like the old ways. Just sit in a lukewarm tub of water and wait for the tub to cool down. When it gets cool enough with you in it, it will also cool YOU down and you'll feel a big shiver. That means the fever has broken and then you'll be able to sleep well. Otherwise, LET the fever burn off the infection. That's it's job! The fever isn't the problem. What it is trying to burn and kill off IS the problem. Let the body work!

I guess you've heard the one where the doctor sez take two aspirin and call me in the morning. There is also the one that sez it will take a week to clear up. If you take some aspirin it will clear up in 7 days. Actually it has been proven that taking meds can cause a cold to last longer than if you didn't use meds.
