First I just want to send safe wishes to friends in Indiana. I am having some trouble getting in touch with some of them. Hope they are alright. My daughter is getting quite the case of cabin fever. She is very tired of the rain.

We have really not had much rain this past week. The week before we sure did though. The ground is finally starting to dry out a bit more.

Send some our way. This is the third year of a draught and our water tables are so low that they are even restrict farmers from using water which means less food on our tables and higher prices in the stores.

We haven't had rain in days and because it's been so hot, I'm talking more than 95 degrees the past few days and feeling well over 100 degrees, rain would be a blessing. Our plants are withering and if that keeps up, our garden isn't going to make it either. There isn't a sign of relief in site though.

We have not seen much rain here lately. I am in southern Indiana. It has been very hot and humid in the past week here. It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. We have not seen any as of yet though. We do have some flooding going on in our state of Indiana though. I need to cut grass but it has been way too hot and humid and now it is going to rain. It will be ten feet tall by the time it gets cut the next time. I hate to hear about all of the flooding up north of me also.

I live just across the border in Ohio, so we've been getting hit with a lot of the same stuff. I've also been getting really tired of all the rain! It just makes things seem so gloomy. Now that the weather is warm, I really want to be able to just go out for walks and even just sit outside to enjoy the beginning of summer, but all the rain is kind of disappointing. I'm not sure when we'll finally be able to mow our grass again since there is so much mud. I'm just looking forward to some nice sunny days soon!

I did read something about flooding in Indiana and I hope my friends in Indianapolis are doing well. Knowing them, they are out helping people who have been flooded out of their homes even if their own homes are fine. I have another friend in Illinois who is also likely to be traveling as needed with her church to Indiana. She was involved in helping clean up some of that Hurricane Katrina mess. I like churches that do good work like this. Both people I'm talking about are church folks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ([i]Talkin' to myself and feelin' old Sometimes I'd like to quit Nothing ever seems to fit Hangin' around Nothing to do but frown Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down. What I've got they used to call the blues Nothin' is really wrong Feelin' like I do not belong Walkin' around Some kind of lonely clown Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down. Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you Nice to know somebody loves me Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do Run and find the one who loves me. What I feel has come and gone before No need to talk it out We know what it's all about Hangin' around Nothing to do but frown Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down. I an appreciate a child being a bit sour, too, as rain means no playing outside. Gloomy skies and feeling trapped inside. I'm sure that's a bummer for a kid. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Various included footnotes: 1) Carpenters Song - ( http://www.vex.net/~paulmac/carpenter/lyrics/rainy_days_and_mondays.html ) discussion of mood and rainy days just brought this song to my head. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I live in New Brunswick Canada and it seems that we have had three days of rain to every nice day. I like the flowers and trees to get enough water but I think we have had enough for a few days. Yesterday was nice but it did rain off and on. I can handle that if it's not too bad. And today is promising to be nice as well. I just got back from my 40 minute walk and it's great. There is a nice breeze that seems to cut the heat a bit so it was a good walk. But they are calling for rain now for Wed. Thurs and Fri. Hope the weekend is nice. I would love to get out for a day of fishing again.
