I am trying to write up the front page for my website. Everything else is set and ready to go. But I need a grab them and bring them front page. I have been working all weekend and I can't come up with anything that I think sounds great. What do you do to unclog your mind? I stepped away from it, and came back to it the next day. I sat there for three hours looking at a blank page. Who's got a plunger to help me unclog my mind??????

Well, you can always start by writing a simple one line summary of all your content and try to arrange them to something that is readable and easy to digest as your introduction page. If not, you can try with a simple write up on what inspired you to start up the site in the first place. Your goal for the site and what you envision the site to be as time goes by. Set some sort of vision or goals on the site and tick them off as and when you achieve them. This way, you will have material to update the page when you got new goals to add to it, and if the goal is achieved, you will have something to milestone it as well. Hope it helps.

Glad that it is helpful. That is what I usually do when I get stuck. I know how it feels when you want to get something written, nothing seems to want to come out on the screen. So the best is to summarize what you intend to write about and work with those. Once you get going, the brain is all warmed up, the creative juices will start to flow. Heh heh... I have lost touch with mylot for almost a month now. I would assume the link to your site is somewhere in your profile?

hey it is. but that is not my new site. although i have revamped my old one a bit. it is more about what you need to do, or rather can do to have the life you want. some things that i have read and applied to my life. that has given me a life i never thought I could have.

LOL! Well, it sounds to me like you don't just need to walk away from it for couple hours. You need to walk away, stay away, get your mind off of it, reboot and then get back to it. Just get it out of your mind completely, maybe even for a few days. Unless there is a deadline. But, even thinking about that deadline can block you. There could be a million and one things that are blocking you right now. So, my suggestion would be to start writing on a pad of paper. Write everything. And, I do mean everything that comes to your mind. Socks, pins, laundry, groceries, bed, dog, food, mouse...whatever. One word, 40 words. No matter what it is that comes into your mind, write it down. It sounds funny but, your mind might just be a bit cluttered right now and if you can get all that clutter out of your head and store it on a pad of paper for little bit, maybe your can free your mind and put some space in there to get done what you need to get done. You may unload your mind and still find you need to walk away from it for a bit so, do that too! This is the best suggestion I could come up with! I know it sounds silly but, you never know what may end up working for you so, give it a try! But, while you are doing that, do your best not to think about why you are doing it. And, if you do, write that down on the pad too! It could be as much of the clutter that is blocking your right now as everything else you will write down. Good luck! I hope you get unblocked!

LOL. I get that way sometimes also. My poor brain gets tired and I have to force myself to take a break for a while. I do have a plunger but I don't think that will help LOL. I take breaks from Mylot and let my brain refresh. When I come back, I have new thoughts and things to say and respond with. I hope it works for you too.
