Scandalous Telemarketers!!!

Tonite while I was at work, I received a text from my daugher. "Mom the state troopers called and you need to call them asap." I was dumbfounded. My first thought was OMG I hope my son didnt have an accident. So of course I immediately called her. I asked her if she had talked to her brother this evening and she said yes all was good. While i am talking with her i realize that the area code is 817. I live in Oklahoma. So then i am really curious. I have relatives in that area code, but noone I am close to or that would have my home number. When I call the number i get a recording. " We are away from the desk right now please leave your name, number and we will get back to you." The you get a recording that they cannot take anymore messages. It is full. Imagine that!!! This maynot be verbatim but it is close. Anyways our caller ID says State Troopers, but it isnt. I looked it up online and there were several complaints from people receiving the same call from the same number. Grrrrrrrrrrr it irks me that they can do this. Its like they are some how being fraudulent but still within the law. Has anyone else had a call like this? I would post the number but am not sure what the laws are about that sort of thing.
