GREAT NEWS!! Mom is doing fantastic!! She's totally healed from the trech, she's now eating pured foods, walking the halls with a walker and going to the gym in the hospital for more rehab and she's doing unbelievably GREAT!! The doctor told her that he doesn't think she'll be there all of next week!! AND she doesn't have to go to a nursing home/rehab center afterall!! She gets to come home and have the rehab personnel come to her!! She's just doing that darn good which completely amazes everyone who works in the medical field! I think it's because she's always been an active person, not one to sit around all day but active is what kept her alive and helped her to get well so fast.... Mom told me that everybody on her dad's side had died from strokes which makes her situation all the more sureal! Wow.... She's one lucky lady, that's for sure and I'm one lucky gal to have her still!! Anyways, she's coming home which will be so much easier on me and dad because this traveling so far and the hours we stay to visit with her has gotten to be so hard that I'm dogged tired when I get home so to have her home where I'll be for the first two weeks or more if needed, will be so much easier on me. I can't wait and just HAD to share the wonderful news!! Thank you ALL for your wonderful support, prayers and good thoughts... and EVERYTHING!! You've been an inspiration to me!! Without you all, I don't know if I could've done it!! Thank You So Much!! May God Bless Each And Every One Of You!!!! PS: don't worry, I'll still keep you posted!! I'm not going anywhere... just yet....

This is truly wonderful news CatsandDogs..she must be so happy to think she'll be coming home soon, and I just bet her kitty is going to be glad to see her "mom" again. Yes, I think people who have been very active all their lives and are fighters to boot do recover so much better. Your mom is still in my prayers!

Hi Pye Mom talked about her kitty Holly Dolly a few weeks ago and said out of all the fur babies they have, she misses her the most. I can understand why she said that because she's so loving and sweet but then again, mischievious as all get out which makes mom laugh. Two days ago mom said, she can't wait to get home to her baby girl - hopefully she'll remember me. Now that broke my heart!! But I told her that she'll remember you don't worry! I hope and pray that I'm right about that but time will tell. Time will tell.

That is a good lesson to us all to remain active. If it does not completely keep bad health away, it will make recovery and survival more likely. I am glad things are turning more up beat in your neck of the woods. Enjoy.

That is really good news. It seems as though she has really been blessed. I also know how it feels to make a miraculous recovery after things looked really bleak.

Thank You!! I hope so too and I think she will because she's such a strong willed woman and if she has her sights on something, you better believe she'll do it! lol She has a strong heart and strong faith in God which helped her already a great deal, He's not going abandon her now!! Thanks so much for your kind words!!

You are quite welcome, my friend! I think if we remember that life goes on in one form or another, that we will worry less and accept the inevitable more easily! but in the meanwhile, we want to feel less pain and be able to do what we want to, move around well enough and eat food that tastes good and smells good too!

This is great news to hear that your mom is doing just fine now and can go home next week to be with you and your dad. You are so welcome for all the support and prayers through out this tough worrisome time you had to deal with your mom being the way she was. It seems like she's a fighter and hope she continues to be this way. I will continue to pray for her and your family that you all can be of help to her even after she is home to help keep her strength up and do well may god bless you and good luck.

Hi Tammy!! Great to see ya gal!! You're so right, the heavy burden lifted off of me finally. Gosh that was sooo scary!! Here we were thinking all this time that dad would be the first to go because of his heart and diabetes but what a hell of a surprise that it was almost mom first. It all happened so fast but thank God for the turn of events and she's doing so much better!! She's so happy and beaming like a peacock!! lol Dad and I took her outside to enjoy the outdoors for a little while in which she got to see a Robin and a Mockingbird and was telling us all about them. It's so awesome to have her around STILL!! LOL Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I might be absent for a while when she gets home because she has a computer but she's on dial up, they don't have dsl in their area YET.... BUT I will be back... eventually or even in spurts of here and there but mostly taking care of her and her needs. Thanks so much for being there for me!! I couldn't have done it alone!! (((((hugs)))))

I'm glad to hear the good news. I'm sure her progress was more than helped along by the support of you and your father. Women, especially mothers are some tough ladies! It is always an inspiration to hear about people overcoming the odds to come out on the other side of their illness with the upper hand.

Yeah you're right about that Pam, women are a bit more of a fighter especially when there's so much support, meaning beyond my dad and I. She has so many cards in her room that there's no place to put them all. Most are on the walls! lol Thanks so much!!

Power of prayer, sweets, the power of prayer! So blessings and hugs back at you! Will she be going home to your Dad's place? How is he doing, by the way. I'm so happy things are turning around for you Cats. You've gone above and beyond the call of duty and I hope the rest of your family appreciates that. I also hope things with your hubs has calmed down too. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day. But you know that right? lol

HEY SPARKS!!!! Good to see you again!! Dang, have we lost touch some where along this long hard journey?! lol It's alright, we'll pick up right where we left off, right?! lol Gosh, I've so missed you!! Ok.... yeah she's going to dad's place or THEIR place. It was much easier to say dad's house while she was in the hospital, now when she gets out it'll be their place once again. lol Dad is doing much much better, thanks for asking!! Things are much better with hubby since I gave him the ultimatium because I couldn't handle his nastiness, although I understood but I couldn't be the target at the time because I had my own crisis and needed his support or rather we needed to support each other but it just wasn't happening. But things are much much better now. I'm wondering now how many grey hairs I have now. LOL Oh well, what ever the number, they're well earned!! LOL

Then it's good news on all fronts and I couldn't be happier for you Cats. And you know, that in spite of not being in touch so much these last weeks, you've been in my thoughts every day. Thanks too, for keeping me on your mass emailing list. I haven't had time to answer all my emails, but I do read them! So hugs and continued improvement for everyone. And don't count the gray hairs - you'll only get more doing that! LOL
