Fire everywhere!

Yesterday, in several areas here in northern California, there was a major outbreak of fires. One of them broke out about a half hour after I had been through that particular area! And it wasn't too far from where my son lives with his dad. That particular fire had burned about 1600 acres and was 50 percent contained as of 9:00 pm last night. Fire fighters are still battling it today because of winds that have been reaching 30 to 40 mph. The wind, combined with temperatures in the mid nineties have made it very difficult to put the blazes out.
Other fires in the area have burned anywhere from a quarter acre at a time to over 300 acres, all because of the high winds. To read more about the fires here's a link to the story in the local paper:

I ask that you all pray, or at least send your best positive thoughts to the firefighters that are having to deal with these fires. This is just the beginning of the fire season, and they have a lot ahead of them to deal with I'm sure.

Yes Katladay I've been hearing about all the fires on the news. Yikes it only seems a few months ago, that Calif was hit with all those fires and is still recuperating from that, but in the southern areas, and now this. I hear there are outbreaks of fires in Florida again as well. Yes, I will pray for the firemen that are battling it out and especially in this hot weather season.

I know CA has a lot of natural fires, but do they suspect this to be arson? I remember the fires from before and they did suspect arson then

I am from Southern California and I have a good idea of what you guys up there are going through. I love Santa Cruz county with all it's trees and beautiful landscapes. It's sad to see that some of those areas are on fire. It's not all that common up there as it is here. Our mountainous areas in my county have been burned a lot in the last few years, too. I hope you guys get the fires out because I know it's a hard thing to deal with.

Thanks hon. The one in the Santa Cruz mountains is right near where my brother lives. He's not close enough to be in any danger though. He's in the town of Boulder Creek, if you know where that is. I'm hoping that they get all of these fires out soon too. Thanks again.

It seems to happen every year, especially toward the mountains in the northern part of the state. It's so dry here that it's no big surprise that the fires are starting. Cal Fire was giving warning back in February that this was going to be a bad fire season. So far it's pretty safe where I'm at. We're surrounded by water filled rice fields, so it's not so bad here. Hugs.
