What are you called?

One of my minor claims to fame is that I was once an occasional player in a pub band in the 1970s. We went by the name of Mulligan. This was because one of the band members worked for a distillers who had a product by the same name. All the band's promotional material curiously was identical to all the Whisky promotional items! Saved and made the band a small fortune! (more saved than made in fact) We never got caught either!! Now you may be an accomplished musician or tone deaf. Neither matters. But if you were to start a band; what would you name it?

LOL. I have never even heard of the whisky! Hope you had fun though whilst in the band. For me it would be an easy one E & the 3 J's as that is what my friends call us as my intials are E and all my childrens names begin with the leter J. Ellie :D

The Whisly didn't last long in the UK. But I think that it is still going strong in the US Ellie.

While I was at school, I had a band - well it actually there were only two of us. We were called Gazelle. I can't remember exactly why but I recall that it was what I found my middle name to mean. I think it was just that we wanted something more interesting than our own names but the meaning of our first names were not very good! If I were to start a band now, we would have to have a really weird and random name but I don't know what that might be. All the good names are taken.

Hmmm, strange that your merchandise was exactly the same as theirs. I reckon that if I had a band.......even though I can't sing and can only play a teeny weeny bit on the keyboard, the name would have to be 'Dory and the Pandas' :) A good name for a band in my opinion is one that makes a whole word, how about this one: The Oreticals or The Rmals or The Ories (do you see what I did there?) ;P
@p1kef1sh (45681)

I did see what you did there. The Thermal Theory is simply Theoretical! But Dory and the Pandas. Very cute. I love that. You ought to trademark it.

I played the bass guitar - badly! We played a lot of rock/country. Kriss Kristofferson was a favourite for some reason. Slow, so we had time to work out where to put our fingers on the guitar necks next. LOL.

I never got to be good at playing any instruments nor in singing but back in college I was obsessed with coming up with a good band name. the best I could come up with was 'Dianne and the Mongo sprouts'. my friends got into a disagreement about mongo sprouts back then and hence the "mongo sprouts".
