I have a weed problem, the weeds have these deep roots and they grow all the time, they grow like trees, and they are really really wide leaves so I don't know what they are. But they roots have to be destroyed and we can't pull them up.
Does anyone know what can of herbicide we can use to kill the roots so that we can get rid of the problem?

I don't know if you have Roundup there, which is a popular weed killer. I'm going to surprise people on the board, as I prefer to use safer methods to reduce weeds. Try this solution 1 gallon White Vinegar, 1 Cup Salt and 1 tbsp dish detergent. It does work on some weeds for me.

You can get any weed killer, to kill weeds in your yard. For me, I will take a pair of ordinary scissors that I use in my flower bed, and I will cut the leaves away from the weed, then I will spray the stem of the weed. The weed killer gets in the stem and goes down the root. If you have a lot of weeds, I would get the bigger industry looking sized container of weed killer. You can find these at Home Depot, honestly, they have a better selection for your money. I use Round Up, it works fast, I like it because we get the prickily weeds, that when you step on them, it feels like needles sticking you all over your feet.

these weeds I have wood like tries and had to be axed down. Also in Quebec where I live they have laws against chemicals, but the man next door is supposed to check at home depot and see what he can get.

There are lots of methods. This the best method. Dig them out. Boiling water might work. Vinegar might do the trick. I wouldn't use salt if you are going to try to plant something there unless you know that it likes salt.
Round-Up works. I buy a concentrate and make it a little bit stronger. But I only use it where my clients ask for it.
I grow organically and pull weeds and the best way is the manually remove them.

I think when my mother had a problem like that she just used a bit of round-up IN THAT AREA, but it has to be only in that area, because that stuf will kill aything in it's path.
