Well I transplanted 10 stalks of my sweet corn to this area pictured here. I have about 15 more stalks in the garden bed and need to dig and clear another area somewhere in my back yard for them. These are very healthy looking and the others aren't too bad looking either. been a busy gardening weekend for me. That's one reason I haven't been on here since Friday evening. Did you all have a great weekend or what?

Hello Grandpa B, great weekend here just the rain and little flood made my okra and beans crawl in the ground...Need to place some stick to have them something to lean on until they will be strong again!

Yeah I had to lay some dirt around the graden and flower beds as they were uneven and with all the rain we had recently there were puddles in spots stungint their growth. Now I hope I have iot better.

Those look great!! I bet you'll have some tasty corn!
This weekend I caught up on stuff. Took me most of the day to clean my house and didn't get past the first floor. Dirty dishes are in my sink, this is a bad day for my back with the scoliosis and such. Had to mow my yard--I do it a bit at a time, sitting down between areas. It's lovely, though! And smells so good! Now we're having a wonderful thunderstorm so it's been a wonderful weekend!
Still getting my garden squared away, killing weeds and trying to convert parts of my lawn to growing areas.

It isn't anywhere near picking but I am sure once it is that it will be the sweetest corn on the neighborhood. I always have loved the aroma of a fresh cut lawn. The smell of cut grass is so calming to me. Glad you got some things done this weekend. Have a great week as well now.

I had a super weekend Grandpa Bob! We spend the weekend at my cousin's mountain resort last Sunday. There were a lot of children, cousins, aunts and uncles. We got to bond and catch up with each other. Some of my cousins brought along their girlfriend or boyfriend and we also got to know them better. We spent the day singing karaoke, swimming, drinking and eating to our hearts content. My daughter had difficulty waking up this morning for school because she got so tired swimming with her cousins the whole day yesterday. We all went home tired but happy.

gawddd this sounds great. I'd love a relative that has a resort of any type be it a lake resort or a mountain resort etc. Sounds almost like a family reunion you had. Glad you had a great time. Have a great week now.

We had a good weekend so far except my husband has drank a bottle of rum. He is on so much meds he should not be drinking. I hate it when he drinks.
I am not going to make dinner for him because of his drinking. It is not the fifth size bottle it is the bigger one. We just bought it yesterday!
I pulled weeds and swam in the pool. When I would get hot I just jump into the pool and rest a while then go back to pulling weeds. I have green beans in, bell peppers, and cucumbers in so I weeded the area around the cucumbers. I put the cucumbers in first before getting all the weeds out.
I am sure getting tanned from working in the yard.

I have about 15 or so that are really stunted due to too much rain as well. These are the best and largest so I transplanted them to where they get about 10 hours of sunshine which helps them grow and ripen.

I must say GrandPa BoB that you always do a terrific job in all the gardening you do.
You make everything look so nice and then share with us photo's so we can see. The corn looks really good and I hope you enjoy it. I like to hear when people take pride in what they do for you do and that's great. It's a good feeling once it's all done to step back and see it all and watch it grow. Keep up the good work and take care.

You may find them at your local market for sale.
I dig up the area add a bag or two of top soil and plant. That's it. No additives to alter the soil, no fertilizer, no compost yet. Just dig, clear thre weeds, and plant is all I do.

For corn it's about 85 days I think. But it all depends on the growing conditions. No more than a few months though. No we started working at about 9 in the morning. It is daylight here from about 6 a.m. till 9 p.m. right now here in Minnesota.

I haven't had a great weekend in a long time. My husband and I work seven days per week and we stay wore out. We had a pretty good weekend but we had company for my daughter most of the time. That took up alot of time away from the things my husband and I wanted to do together. I hope we get some of these bills paid off soon. We may take a few days off in July. We may not feel like doing much other than relax and swim, if the bugs aren't biting.

Bills suck at anytime of the week. My wife seldom takes time off so we are not together a whole lot either. She works 6 days a week 12 hours a day.

Your corn stalks certainly look very healthy... in no time you will be enjoying the fruits of your labor... when are you expecting to harvest the corn?... if i had a garden that big... i would fill it with my own rice plants... so that i don't need to worry about the none stop increase in the prices of rice here in my country...

I used to love to garden. Especially herbs and veg. I really miss it. I just don't have the time these days. Those look great.
My week-end was brilliant! Went out and had fun with friends. Perfect. Thanks for your sunshine posts.

Hi Grandpa Bob good luck with transplanting your corn,
'you will all be happy campers when they all start bearing
nice big ears wow. you must have the original green
thumb indeed. I have spent all weekend mylotting and
trying to forget I have shingles and it hurts lol. mylotting
takes my mind off of it a whole lot and that is safer than
pain pills for sure. Happy Postings

Awesome, fresh corn has the best taste of all! I have a couple of tomato plants out and bell pepper plants but that is all. I hope your garden is fruitful!
