I've been counting calories now for

Two weeks. I have been doing a pretty good job. In the beginning I went over my goal several times. But now, for the past 6 days in a row, I have been at or under my goal. Yesterday I was way under, and I thought about having a bowl of ice cream, since I would still be able to meet my goal, but I decided against it. This is getting easier. I only grudgingly decided to start calorie counting, but it really does make a difference. I write down everything I eat, with the number of calories, and it is easy to keep track and see how I am doing. I can't tell if I've lost much yet, since my scale is not very accurate, but I feel good about myself, so that is helping to keep me going.

Congratulations SC, that is fantastic. You should be very proud of yourself and it is great that you you feel good about yourself. I think that is the most important part. We don't seem to spend enough time doing things that make us feel good about ourselves so well done to you for your great effort.
I am sure before long it will all just fall away before your eyes.

Thanks, LouRhi! I can always count on you for kind words and encouragement! You are right, I don't do for myself very often. It feels good to feel good- if that makes any sense!

yes it does make sense and I must say I am a little jealous! After I read your post last night, I was like, well I need to do something that makes ME feel good about ME! I wrote a little in my blog, but it wasn't quite enough! Still need to work on it a bit.

I am proud, thanks. It was light ice cream- but still, better to have none at all. I resisted again last night- I'm building momentum.

I am doing that at the moment, I have been counting calories for three days now and I have been under or well under the whole time. I think that it is quite easy to do as I do not eat many calories once I cut out the biscuits that I snack on as passing through the kitchen. I have made a spreadsheet on Microsoft Excel listing the foods and the calories. I am trying to stick to or under the 2000 calories that a woman is meant to have a day and maybe lower it every 2 weeks if I am not seeing results. How many calories is your limit?

What is your calorie intake? I am trying to keep mine right at 1000 and I do good during the weeks, but on the weekends it might as well be as if I did nothing the whole week!! Let me know your solution to writing everything down, as well. I don't really have the patience for that.
