i spend lot of time with my children, but i often doubt if its quality time, cos i sit and watch tv with them, but that cannot be said as totally involved with them, i try helping them in their studies but that is what they are supposed to do now, still i try to make up and spend as much time as possible

Yes, I do. Even if it is just a quick chat on the phone. My 'kids' are my two grand children and my daughter. My grand daughter is not living at home anymore. Her mom and I talk to her every couple of days. We have a good woman to woman talk. My grand son spends time with me through the day. My daugher comes and sets down by me and I know she needs to talk. I mute the tv, put down whatever I am doing, turn the PC off, etc. So, there you have it.

I spend time with my kids all day and night, but i do spend time watching tv with them and playing with my sons train set and cars with him.
I like spending time with my kids on sunny days, because its nice to play in the garden for hours and just come in to eat and sit out of the sun for abit.
Spending time in front of the tv with your children is still spending time with them, so as long as they enjoy it too..... theres nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

I used to be a stay at home mom until I had to go to work. So I really miss the time I used to have with my children. I have to work during the day and only give them a couple of hours on weekdays and the weekend. I am currently looking for an online job or business to do. I really believe that it is important to spend time with our children because there are so many things that they can become involved in today's society. I try my best to teach them right and how to treat other individuals with respect. I also think that their ages have a lot to do with things. When they are young you have a better chance of directing them, but when they get older whatever you didn't teach them they will eventually learn the hard way which can be very hard on the parent as well as the child.
How do you balance your time? Sometimes I find it very hard to balance their time, my time, and my husband's time with me as well. I try to give every one the same or needed attention, but sometimes I feel that I am left out. I find it frustrating to need a break and time for yourself and not get it.
How do you manage to deal with the time you have versus the time you want and need for yourself and your family.
