what is the difference between a best friend and just a friend

according to me a friend will be the one who will back out when that is what everybody else is doing and best friend is the one who stays with you no matter what the consequences are
another difference is with a friend you can't be your true self and with your best friend you are always your true self
when you are doing something wrong or is in some problem a friend will advice you but your best friend will order you

my bestfriend is someone who can call me a jerk and yet say it with love.. someone who tells me honestly if i had screwed up on something and who will rejoice with me for even the tiniest achievements.
haven't had a friend like that until my husband came.

yes he is... but i have had a lot of close friends before too. and i do still have some now.
but when it comes to like being able to say and hear anything. i'd have to say it belongs to my husband...(smiles)

a best friend is the one that always hangs out with you, that always calls to know if you are fine, the one that be awake for more time if you have problems and cant sleep and need talk, the one that will cry if you cry or be sad if you are sad. the one that always always no matter what happen is there^^ thats a best friend. a friend is that one that is sweet to you and you tell him some things about you but not many many like to best friend^^

A friend is someone you like and have things in common with. A best friend is someone you can rely on. Someone who will be honest and you know it comes from the heart. A best friend is more like an extended family member. I don't think best friends order you to do anything. They make you aware of the good reasons for doing this thing. They have a way of busting through the bull and getting to the realism. A friend will bs around and try not to hurt you.
