Where's my summer?

It's been a mixture of nice weather and bad storm weather here in Virginia, USA. One minute the sun is scorching hot and the next thing you know clouds are coming over fast and it starts to rain - then comes thunder and lightening. 30-50 minutes later it's all gone and it's hot again - go figure. Lots of flooding in other parts of the US though, not good!

Where I live, summer means warm weather but does not mean dry weather. Unless you live in the desert, rain is a normal summmer weather condition. I live in the US and here the weather is so very unpredictable. Sometimes we even have to wear sweatshirts in the summer and the very next day it will be unbearably hot. Even the forecasters seem to have trouble predicting the weather here. I love it..all of it. I love the rain and thundershowers and snowstorms and I equally love the sun and the warmth. The only thing I really don't care for is extreme hot or cold. But then again, there is nothing I can do about it so I just deal with it. It's not a big deal...I sure won't let it ruin my day.

ack..today we hit 116F. hot hot hot. we havent had any measurable rain in a year. and the past 5 years we have had far under the average amount that we should have. send your rain over here dangit lol! i expect this summer to be hotter than ever! we were in the low 100'sF in the middle of spring..so that doesnt bode well at all! i love my a/c!!

I thought the same here ..it was thorioughly miserable!!and we were looking after our grandson so it meant indoor play..I took him and the dog out for a wee walk ..but we got soaked!!the plan was a bicycle training lesson..we went to dear old Argos and bought him a bike..we were more excited than he was!!and his lessons had to be indoors,which meant a lot of reversing !!..The worst summmer holiday that i ever remember was one in Cornwall...we went on a camping site,granted it was an extreemly nice caravan...and a lovley site..but it was just a week of toorential rain...and it didnt let up..so we were there with three little children..as they were then..boxed into this ere caravan..well it really didnt do much for any of us!!But then again I suppose that yes I can remeber nice summers....somewhere in my memory!!!

It rains often here during the summer here as well. Almost every day in fact with the temperatures reaching near 100 degrees every day. Thunderstorms just go hand in hand with the heat.

I thought it's only happening here, We started the first day of summer with so much thunderstorms and lightning...I wish we will feel the real summer soon. This is the worst so far, the weather has been weird even last Spring...Hopefully, it will still turn to be a good summer!

Same thing here in usa (Ohio), thunderstorms, and more today and from what I seen on the weather, it will be that way each day for a while. Not just rain, but severe storms. I can remember when we was kids going out and riding our bikes in the puddles when it rained no worry about it being a severe storm, or having to seek shelter when a rain storm come. It appears the weather is changing, and each day brings the threat of more severe storms, I have had to resort to buying a weather radio so it can alert me to the warning as I may not have the tv on one of the stations that cut in and let you know bad weather is coming. I like rain it is good for my flowers but let get a break from the severe part for a while.

We have been lucky today in France, a real hot day, although it has been humid in parts of the day and occasionally went dark as if we were going to get a big thunder storm, but it never happened, and remained sunny and hot. Tonight again it feels like we will get a storm, it will be difficult to sleep tonight, but I don't mind so much if it rains in the night, as long as it has cleared up by daybreak.

gemini rose we must have your summer as its hot, hot, and hotter here in tustin ca. we had the a c on all day and now we turned it off and put the big box fans inour bedroom windows. blazing hot, full sun, no wind, really uncomfortable even inside with air conditioning going.lookslike we are in for a hot dry summer again with bad wild fires in the fall. sigh.

Well, when I was much younger I had summers in Irmo, SC. I enjoyed being away from home.. it gave me a sense of independency. I love this feeling. Now my summers have gotten to the point where they are boring.. Maybe because I have no money to spend..

I agree this weather has been crazy for the past couple of months .It seems like it has been raining off and on 4ever now . I miss the sun and the feeling of the warm sun on my skin and I haen't been able to swim as much and feel bummed. I hope that July will be much ,much better and I am sure it will be.

Oh its a real shame ,wheres the sun gone and whens i coming back is more important.We started off pretty good and now its just rain or wind every day.Maybe this coming week will be a little kinder to us here .Lets keep the fingers crossed.and the toes,and anything else you can think of.

I don't really understand why you and your son look forward the summer. For me and my freinds around ,we hope summer will never come.Hot weather,No raind in summer almost drive us crazy,we must stay almost most allthe time inside.

We have had chances of rain here also. It rained here for a little while, but most of the day has been dry. I am glad because we got some of our yard work done. It got very hot today when we were outside. We wanted to go swimming but we was too tired after working. We work seven days per week as it is and we were wore out. I think we may have a pretty good summer this year as far as the weather. I hope to get the yard work done soon so we can enjoy swimming.
