1. No Breakfast People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration. 2. Overeating It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power. 3. Smoking It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease. 4. High Sugar consumption Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development. 5. Air Pollution The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency. 6. Sleep Deprivation Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells. 7. Head covered while sleeping Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects. 8. Working your brain during illness Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain. 9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage. 10. Talking Rarely Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain

WOW! You scared me. I am very happy for joining myLot because I got to think. I am able to maintain a healthy life for my brain except for "air pollution'...this I can't control. LOL. Thank you so much for this very informative post. Now I know what to do to myself to improve my brain capacity and function. An additoinal to what you have written is doing puzzle works or crosswords also helps a lot. Doing the same activity all the time will not create any additional growth of the neurons in our brain. Doing new activities and mastering it adds a new extension or branch to our brain cells and permanently stays there. Not exercising also makes our brain dull. Exercising makes our heart pumps faster and our blood circulates faster. Through exercising we gain oxygen to our blood that goes to our brain. So, move you body people. I'll rate you positive for this post. Take care =)

Gee some of these things are surprising, certainly some things to think about there, I never used to have breakfast but I do try and make myself these days, I guess we all have to look for all the little things in our life to live a better healthier life...

Wow, I didn't know that covering your head while you are sleeping can damage your brain. I remember seeing those old films where people used to wear caps to bead. I know for me, I can't help my sleep deprivation as my body often keeps my brain awake. I always knew that eating poorly is not good for your brain because whenever I splurge, I often have problems thinking straight. And, you're definitely right when it comes to stimulating your brain and talking about things that make you think. Well done!

i think its not really putting caps on head. its like covering your face and thus will unable you to breath enough oxygen... talking is one way to stimulate our brains, but of course we must make sure that we make sense when talking there are people who really does talk alot but they just pretend to be brainy!

Thanks for that informative post.I have heard of a few of these but nothing works like scientific evidence because we can easily answer the questions of other people.

Good information and thanks a lot. I have heard of a few of these and keep screaming at home that there should be proper sleep and no skipping of breakfast. With scientific evidence it is easier to handle people who think I keep stuffing them with nutrition in the morning .

Good topic you posted here, thanks a lot! Many people do skip breakfast without knowing they are depriving themselves of the most important meal of the day. This is a very good reminder!
