When using candles do you make your own or buy them?I buy mine.Even I do know my limits when it comes to making stuff.I have always wanted to try this and soap making but never got around to it.

well i prefer to make my own candles but sometimes when they put them on sale at a store or they are just so cheap that i cannot pass up the deal i will buy them i love to make my own candles because then i feel as if i can put my own personal twist on the candles but sometimes the store sells them for cheaper than i can make them myself but i always make my own soap because i use an all natural herbal soap made of burdock root, catnip, and other herbs

well it depends i would rather to just make my own candles but sometimes it is hard for me to pass up an opportunity to buy them when they are really cheap like at the end of halloween they often mark down black candles to like a quarter a piece...i could not make them for that cheap so i buy them but i prefer to make my own candles that way i can make them with my own personal touch i like spiking them with a little vodka or tequila when i make them because they smell really good when they burn

I have always bought my candles. Never tried to make them as I thought it would be a difficult job although I love working with crafts. I lost my sense of smell in an accident about 7 years ago so the only scent I buy now is French Vanilla. I know how yummy that use to smell.

i buy too like yourself tho i have always wanted to try and make my own candles and soaps, especially soaps for the children as they both have sensetive skin and then i would know exactly what is in there. i have often browsed around the internet for instructions on how to do so but i have never followed it up. reading your post might be just what i need to go and give it a try now lol! i do have some good friends that make both candles and soaps and often buy from them and there products are so lovley.

Candle making is very easy. If you are just making general pour candles then you melt, add color, add fragrance, and pour it into a jar or mold that has a wick in the middle of it. It really can be that simple. Soap making can be more complicated, or you can do melt and pour soaps which can also be that simple. I would say, if you want to try it go to the library and check out a book or two on the topic and have fun with it. It really can be rewarding and fun!
