When I was working full time outside the home I would always forget to water the plants and care for them properly.I loved plants thou, but I just didn't have the time and energy to care for the correctly. So,I started getting some low maintnance plants like cactus and bonsai trees.I alsom like to have fresh flowers in my house.Do you prefer fresh flowers and plants, low maintnance ones or artificial ones?

I have beautiful plants and a lot of gardens in my yard,i love yard work.I spend more time outside than inside, but of course i do not work...I only have one live plant inside my house and the others are just artificial flowers ,but not but one of them..I do have a large porch and i do have quite a few plants on my porch..Cactus and bonsi is a very good choice when you do not have time for plants though, they are very pretty and low maintainence...

I prefer NO plants, artificial or otherwise. Both collect DUST. Artificial is just that, artificial. Live plants need maintenance, become unruly, can become infested, and if not cared from "nicely" become UGLIER than artificial plants! They are also a MESS to clean up after... dropping leaves/flower petals, etc. on the floors/carpeting.
Flowers... fresh ONLY. And to keep the water clear and not get SMELLY/stinky/green on you, put a DROP of BLEACH in the water with the cut flowers. That kills the bacteria that causes the smelly/stinky/green water. It won't HURT the flowers, they're dying anyway! Besides, if you keep the bacteria from "eating" the flowers, the flowers will last a bit longer, too!
If you like cactus, and would like to NOT OVERWATER them... here's a GREAT HINT. Either online or in your newspaper, keep a watch on the weather in Phoenix, AZ... if it RAINS in Phoenix, then WATER the cacti. If not, let it go!

I am surprised my plants live. I forget to water them all the time. I think they have morphed into plants that need little water, as I am so bad!! LOL
