Can you think of a funny kitten or cat name?

What are some of the funniest cat or kitten names you have ever heard? How do you pick names for your cats? Awhile back when we adopted our little kitten, I wanted to name her Squeakers, cause that is the sound she made. She would squeak when she was picked up. So cute! My other cat, practically named herself. When we first got her, she could only make one sound. "eeeeb, eeeeb." And by day two she said, "eee--bbbb", which roughly translated to EB. So that is how she got her name. And the big one, Big man, used to be named Cutie pie or something silly. But then we found out he was a boy and changed his name. What inspired you to name your cats? Did you just look at the cat and instantly know their name?

Newest kitty is Leo Leroy Tomson. He was a stray, who was aggressivly Lion hearted (Leo, the lion.) Leroy means, the king, what a name for the "King of Beasts." Tomson, because it is obvious he is the son of a tom cat. Creamery is named after a place my hubby knows about that sells icecream and burgers. He is very soft and creamy colored. We also call him Fluffernutter, cause he is fluffy. And nutty.Princess is really Inky Princess. Named Inky after another cat hubby knew. And he worked with a girl who had the name princess on her license plates. Tiger was named by someone else. Names just come to me, and they fit the animals give them to.

The way I pick up the names of my cats depends on how they look. Often times they are in the Filipino language, like for instance my cat Gabbie (may she rest in peace) -- she was a black cat and in Filipino, "night" means "gabi" so I took that. One of her offsprings I call Teddy, because when I first saw her, she looked like a teddy bear, and Teddy's brother I call Paborito, because he is my favorite.

That's so sweet! We have a big gray and white male cat that lives outdoors. And his name is Papa Bear, cause we think he is either Daddy or Grandfather to all the cats in the neighborhood. He's big and grizzly looking, but a very sweet cat. He's probably our kitten's Grandfather. When she lived outside he was always very sweet and gentle with the kittens. He never harmed any of them.

My four cats were named their names for various reasons. Beertje because he's actually my moms and she collects bears (beertje means little bear in dutch). Daisy because I liked the sound of it and I used to name one of my barbies daisy, I wanted to keep the name around. Poekie is my boyfriends, it's a very common name in Dutch. He was out on ideas and doesn't care a lot for names. It does sound sweet though :) DJ because I wanted a double name that was easy to shorten, and DJ sounds cute too. One of my early childhood my little ponies name was DJ too ;)

I named my cat Misu because it's slang in like 4 languages for kitty. Growing up I would call cat's misu and when someone was calling a cat you'd here "here, misu, misu". So I named her Misu and since I like chinese food and though it was funny she got the middle name Soup and she's got our last name. That's actually her legal name for her microchip and stuff, Misu Soup Perez, lmao. She gets mail in her name too. She also likes to be called Perejil which is spanish for parsley. I don't know, a few months ago I was cooking and and asked my mom to pass me the perejil and Misu came running and since then she'll answer to that and her name. Little nut, lol. I read a few days ago that Misu is actually Japanese for water. It fits, she loves to play in water. I had a stray cat once that lived outside and we were slowly getting it used to living inside, it was an outdoor kitty. I asked him his name and he said clearly "meow" so he got named Meow. He wasn't a talkative kitty, my cat isn't either, but if you asked him his name he'd always say Meow, lol. There are some strays outside from time to time, my mom has named one Mofo Kitty, Pinto (his owners call him Blue but now he answers to Pinto, lol), Cheesey Poof, Midnight, Fake Pinto (looks like Pinto but his spots are darker), Flaco (spanish for skinny) and Poofy. One more naming story but it isn't a cat. I had 2 fish one named Horsey and the other Sparky like 8 years ago and then 2 years ago I had 2 fish, Napolion and Pedro. Clearly I should never name children, lol.

I feel that the cat will "give" you it's name, if you're only patient enough and "listening"... or watching... for the clues.... just as "Squeakers" was for you. Two of my cats "came with" their names, and as far as I could tell, they were just fine with them, and so was I. My first cat was a stray... a mother cat with 4 kittens. We had her spayed so we couldn't call her "Mommie" or anything like that, but she was a real "GIRL" cat. So, "Missy" came to mind... you know, there's the Mister, Mrs...and then the "Missy." The second one whom I named was Angel... and he was JUST that! He was my angel... he was my precious. It took me nearly 2 months to find his name. I had taken him to my mom's house to show him to her. As I was talking about him, I said, "Oh Mom, he's just an angel!" And VOILA! That was it! My third one is Sherbert, another stray. She's an orange tiger-tabby with some white on her, and she sort of reminded me of orange sherbut... but "Sherbert" (or "Sherbie" for short!) just was so right. I've had a couple come/go (strays)... one I named Moonshadow, a beautiful, exotic looking chocolate point siamese... and one was Popsicle, who was actually Sherbert's brother (we caught him and took him to the shelter).

I love the story about EB, that is so cute! We have a beautiful black and grey tabby cat. His stipes are gorgeous. We knocked around the idea of naming him some military rank due to the stripes; something like sarge, captain, lieutenant etc. But at some point my husband commented that the markings reminded him of how water ripples when a stone is thrown into the water. We knew instantly that 'Ripples' would be the cat's name!

My cat smokey had the nickname of muggles which he did not like at all - everytime you called him that, he'd roll over & go all silly just at the sound of the word!!

Sybil was jet black and my daughter named her Sybil which means prophetess cos she said she looked like a witches cat. Wilfred cos he was an old boy even as a kitten and Blackie was already named by the rescue centre and guess whta colour he was, yes correct black LOL. Ellie :D

I have two cats. The first is named Jingles. My son named her after we found her around Christmas time. I think it had something to do with the song Jingle Bells. (He is 5 years old) My other one we named Bug. She is a hunter and loves stalking, catching, and eating bugs! It is so funny to watch her in action!

well, my eldest cat is from Hawaii and his name is POI because of his colorings as well. i always liked the name of a friend's cat named velcro. i know someone who named his cat driftwood as he found him abandoned in a pile of driftwood at the beach. He was a small kitten still tied to a bag which did not drown him. he managed to escape in time.

I have three cat and one dog... All the cat's where named based on looks. The dog becuase i always loved the name Kitty #1 is Mittens. He's black with white paws. Kitty #2 is Tigger. He has stripes and would bounce of the furniture. Tiggers bounce right? (winnie the pooh) Kitty #3 is Gizmo. When we got him as a kitty his ears where bigger than his head. which made him look like gizmo from the gremlins movie. Puppy is Hershey, it just seem to fit and always wanted to name a dog that, he was more brown as a puppy but he's more black/white/grey now

You can either go cute or very handsome with cat names. Like Poopy Poo, or Glubby Poo, or Dubbin Tiss, or Kissy Pumps, or Gladdie Waddie, then you can get very handsome, like Valentino, Curtis, Gladiator, Edward, Charles, or you can get oddish, like with, Draco, Bimms, Extractor, Carzy Lady, or Priness Lucky, etc. Then you can have household names like, Ruggie, Cheers, Toi Poi, Porch Dragon, Puss Ups, etc Or you can do what I would really like to do and call the puss something that reflects you true feelings like my favourite cat name - " QUEENIE " How's all that ?

ha ha that was funny. All our cats were named by my father who used to hate cats. He used to hate cats before he got married to my mom. My mom was an avid cat lover and started growing cats at home. Our first cat was named by my brother when he was a toddler. In our language cat is called poonai. My brother could not say poonai what came to him was meena and that became that cats name It was with us for about 12 years. After that we had a lot of kitties and my dad used to call them by a new and different pet name every time. The best one stuck as the cats name. I particularly remember one cat that was a riot of colours. Half of its face was black and half brown with some white patches too. So My dad called it multi because of its multicolor. And lol we started calling him multi. Now isnt that funny???
