Do you resent being a 'referral'?

Do you resent that your referee earns money when you post? I have seen discussions where several people have been worried that they 'earn less' because they have been referred by someone. It is a common feeling but completely untrue! You earn no less by joining MyLot as someone's referral than you would if you joined the site off your own bat! It works like this. Let us say that MyLot have decided to share a percentage of its revenue with its members, depending on their activity here. We don't know the actual amount, but let us say, for argument's sake that it is 50%. They then say that they will also pay (as a 'thank you') 25% of the earnings of each member's referrals. Supposing that each member is also a referral of someone, that means that for each member's activity, they will pay 50% plus a quarter of that (which is 12.5%) of their revenue, so the maximum they would pay for each member would be a figure based on 62.5% of their revenue (leaving 37.5% profit for the company and its shareholders). I should stress that, though my assumption of 50% is not unreasonable, it could be greater or less than that. In any case, whatever they decide to pay their members for their activity is not reduced by the amount they pay for referrals. If there were fewer referrals, MyLot would simply make more profit! So, please don't knock the people who you joined under! They should be your friends, and, ideally, should be supporting you in your goal to earn from being a mamber!

Thank you so much for your words,I am a referral of someone, and I see he is less active than me,and I know he has many reffals. So I want to know wether the reason he is not active is his many referrals, that means can he get the dollars more, and it is not necessary to be active? I have no other ideas, just wonder the rule of mylot, and I think it is fair for every body. And now I just have earned 0.81 ,have no active referrals, but I think I will try my best to have a good time here, after all, besides there are money it is happily. Thank you again,my friend.

I have never thought of it really. I always thought what you have just said. There is no reason why we should resent the person whom we referred under. It makes no difference to our earnings. I am glad to have referred a good member myself and am pleased that I can earn that little bit extra. I think those who are referred and do alright here should be grateful that they were shown such a great place.

No, Dory, it wasn't you. I think you were referred by either rierie or nannacroc. I have 3 referrals under me but only one active. That one is the lovely Mr. Owlwings.

I feel bad because I didn't sign up here under anyone and so no one makes anything off me when I have posted so much here. They could have really made some cash. I have 45 referral's however but none of them really got hooked so I don't really make anything on them.

No I don't resent being a referral. I am happy if my friends earns a few dollars because of me. Why should I resent it? Convincing someone to join a site like my lot is not easy. I have only one inactive referral till now. Its not easy encouraging people to join here and be active. So this should go to the referrals merit
