I really enjoying learning new trivia. The questions in the paper that say Did you know? I always read them. Tonight I'm seeing trivia on a game show called Duel. My calender even has trivia questions.
I almost fell over to find out the average amount of money that the tooth fairy leaves is $2.09. My children received a quarter and were quite happy with that quarter. They would hold up that shiny piece of money in joy.
What would you leave under the pillow? Is $2.00 a lot to leave? I'm looking forward to seeing what is left in 2008.

I use to get a quarter back in the early 60's but rumor has it some kids are getting $5.00 a tooth, I think that is excessive.

Wow, I can't imagine handing over a $5.00 bill for each tooth. My youngest would have pulled them out when they were lose, if she heard they were worth that much. I'm glad I don't have young children now, as I would need another job just to pay for teeth. Thanks for the reply.

I asked the same question a few months ago, in my day I got a dime under my pillow, and my son got a quarter, 2.09 cents wow that is something else!

well average mean middle,
so people pay more for teeth and people pay less, so families with little money are not paying that much for a tooth especially if they have several kids,
I think I loved the tooth fairy even more than santa clause lol.

I received a dime also. It was fun putting it in my piggy bank. I was so shocked that it was the average, as it means houses that can't afford to pay for teeth must be going into their money needed for other things to pay for teeth.

When I was a little kid, I usually got one dollar under my pillow from the tooth fairy. I knew it was my parents of course, so I always tried to stay up to catch them in the act. I guess I was just too young because in the morning the tooth would be gone, the dollar would be under my pillow, and I had no memory of it all.

One of my daughters is the same age as you now. I'm glad she didn't know others were getting a dollar. We let her spend it on anything, so she didn't complain about the amount. Money was tight, as I was attending college. Thanks for informing us that in the 1980's it was $1.00.

I love trivia too! Another thing I am nerdy about, and proud of it!!!
When both my girls (11 and 7) lost their first tooth they each got $5. My oldest would get a $1 a tooth and now my youngest gets $2.00.
I remember being so happy with a quarter. This momma just tries to spoil them every once in a while. LOL
My youngest and a friend were having a discussion the other day about the tooth fairy. It seems her friend always is left with a little gift and not money. My 7 year old is older than her years and it is just a matter of time before she figures it out.

I think a gift is an interesting idea. I'm past having children age, but think my children would have loved it. Thanks for the reply.

When my twins begin to lose their teeth around 7 years old, I will probably give them a $1 a piece. That is. Inflation is one thing, but for losing tooth, which naturally occurs, forget it!! It is rite of passage and an award more than a dollar is just wrong!!

I didn't think to much of giving a dollar now. I'm just speechless over the high amount when many of us are having trouble paying our bills. Thanks for the reply.

I always left my boys $1, that started back in 1991 I think. When I was little I got a dime. Talk about inflation!!
I also taught them to put their tooth in an envelope, it made it easier for me to take the tooth from under the pillow and they always thought the tooth fairy magically replaced the tooth with the dollar as I used an identical new envelope for the money!

That is funny. I never thought about using an envelope there were times we had to hunt for that quarter. Imagine the tooth fairy hunting for money. Thanks for the reply.

When I was little, and the new $1 coin was introduced in Caada, I'd always get one of those under my pillow. We now hae two dollar coins, but those weren't inroduced until I had lost all of my baby teeth. LOL

I think the dollar coin is really nice. I'm sure the two dollar one is also. I saw your flags at BT. I'm trying to figure it all out. There is a lot to do there. Thanks for the reply.
