I don’t like the Amitabh of today. of course there is nothing more to know about him that all that we have been knowing all these years. But I really liked his image of the 60s and 70s…wow if there was ever a MAN in Bollywood it had to be Amitabh.

dear bengali mahila, you seem to be very much impressed by the amitabh of the yester years. i loved his role in shakti and zanjeer. he had that ANGRY YOUNG MAN look. very very macho style. and the way, he smoked a bidi in the initial parts of DEEWAR as a cooli, terrific. which movie and where do you think he appeared the most sexy of all???

Yup I know him cause I'm an Indian Lolzz.. He is indeed a star of Indian cinema. He is old but sill acts in movies. The last movie I saw of his was "Sarkar Raj".
However I don't think foreigners would know him or even heard of him. He is not that famous outside India. People like Shushmita sen (Ms. Universe 1994), Aishwariya Rai (Ms. World 1994), Katrina Kaif (Brought up in the UK) etc. would be more famous people abroad who are from the India film industry.
Aishwariya Rai was even once called on the Oprah Winfrey show and featured as Oprah's guest. I guess she is the most famous amongst all.

Got to be Deewar, its my favourite. Specially the scene where he comes out of Peter’s garage after the fight and just tumbles down to the roadside tap…and the eyes…OMG I could divorce my hubby any day just for those eyes

Amitabh Bachchan has been one of the greatest legendary actors in Bollywood. He has proved himself to be the jack of all trades by the varied roles he has acted in. Amitabh is an icon of Bollywood whose alienated, brooding on screen characters forever changed the face of the hero in Indian Cinema during the 1970's. A 1999 BBC poll declared him Superstar of the Millennium.
Amitabh Rocks.......... :-)
