What do your kids do during the summer break?

My children are driving me crazy! What do you do with your kids when they are out of school for the summer? Especially if you have to work. I work part-time and they are having to come to the office with me some days this summer. I don't know how people can afford daycamp all summer long. Do you leave them home alone? What ages can stay home alone?

That's good that he has a grandpa who can take care of him. My parents will not keep them for the whole summer, just a day now and then or a couple of days at a time.

Are there any sitters in the neighborhood you trust enough to watch your kids during the day? maybe the sitter could like take them to a near by park or something and get them out of the house. If you know other Mom's with a similar problem, maybe you could get them to meet you at the pool or park and have like a play date.

Grandparents will keep them some of the time, but not all the time -maybe one day a week or so. I don't have any neighbors who will keep them.

I sure wish I could afford day camp! They have some really neat ones around here but they cost a lot. One of my kids is in Summer School but that ends next week. I've taken one of my other sons to a Vacation Bible school and I'll be taking them to one or two more.

Luckily for me I work from home, so they are here with me. I always say a 12 year old can be left for 20 minutes or less, a 13 year old an hour or less. A 14 year old for a few hours. After that they should be old enough to stay home alone.

I have college aged kids. They are mostly kicking back and playing World Of Warcraft online! (They do have chores. But they still have plenty of relaxation tome!)

We keep going out of town to finish our store so our daughter also go with us since shes out for summer.I know how hard it is for you, taking care of your kids and work at the same time.Don't you have anybody close to you where you can trust to take care of them while you are at work?I can't leave our daughter home alone even she is already on her teens. If i do that my mind will always at her so its better to bring her anywhere i go.
