I have the worst luck in the world

Why is it that when one thing goes wrong everything else has to go wrong with it? First I lose my job basically becasue I have cancer and I am a risk employee (they don't want to have to pay for short term disablity) , then the car, then my grandfather dies and I am about to lose my house.
I have been away this week and may be away a bit longer. So here's what has happen just this last week. Last Tuesday morning my fiance doesn't get home until 3 am, he usually gets home at 1 am. Of course I was panicked and worried. Come to find out the car died and he had to be towed home. $150 for the tow because we live in Georgia and he works in Florida, only 22 miles away. So here we are scrambling trying to figure out how to get another car and he misses a week of work. So we have to worry about him losing his job. We have sold or pawned everything that we have (except the pc) to try to get the money up. So we get the car, and becasue of him missing work, we now have to come up with the rest of the money for the rent on our house (and the company won't work with us at all.). My family hasn't helped at all and he has gotten a couple of loans from his family to help with some of it. I also find out Friday that my grandfather died and I can't get to the funeral (which was yesterday). And my Step father calls me up and tells me that I should have sent flowers or something. I explained to him that I am not sure if I am going to have a place to live or how I am going to feed my kid, and that I couldn't afford to. So of course that created an issue. So now I have to figure out how to come up with another 300 to pay my house payment and feed my family until the 15th. Not to mention get him back and forth to work. It seems like my entire life is falling down around me.
So you think its like when it rains it pours, or do I just have the worst luck in the world?

That makes 2 of us. I am about to lose everything and everytime I turn around it just gets worse. I don't know what to do anymore. Maybe a shack out in the woods would help. I just don't know anymore. Maybe this is why I was so grrr last monday, just had a bad feeling all day.

At least I wouldn't have to worry about her getting into trouble online or having people come over to the house lol. I can just see her now though she gets an attitude with me and I make her go outside and wash clothes by banging them against the rocks lol.

Awww Hun I'm so sorry about everything your going through your job (which you still might be able to sue for discrimination of cancer patients*hint they'll settle out of court*), the car, and your grandfather. I'm so sorry my condolences to you hun if you need to talk I'm always here. I'll pm you my email addy and phone # that way you have a vent if you need it. I truly understand that when it rains it poors. I have the same kinda luck. LOL!! I always think if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
All you can do is take it one day at a time.
here is a link to check out you can actually apply for food stamps which you might be eligible for and if you can prove that with his job that you can pay next months rent they will tell you what you need from the company to help you pay for this month I can't remember what the program is called but they have a bunch of different resources that are available along with the emergency food stamps.

Thank you hunny, I am trying rto keep my head up and be the brave one and the cheerleader for everyone I am just so tired of being the only one cheering. And without you guys I have noone to cheer for me. I am so grateful to have the friends that I have here. I have met very wonderful people and I know that I have a support system with you guys. I can pour out how I am feeling, and you guys are there to go to bat with me and to help cheer me up. I couldn't ask for more than that!! (((((((HUGS))))))

Sweetie I am so sorry you are going through all of this and believe me I have been there
As for it causing an Issue about you not being able to afford Flowers is pretty selfish of your Stepfather he should understand and not make an Issue out of it
I really hope you et through this and it soon starts going up for you, things sort out
I know it is hard and I know it does not seem like it will ever get better but believe me Sweetie it does eventually I have been there and only just starting to get out of it

Thank you sweetheart, and I know you would as well as most of my friends here on mylot would. Just knowing my friends are there for me helps out a lot. Even if we can't be in the same town or state or even country, knowing that my friends are here to help me through the emotional parts is helping more than most people could imagine!

Thank you hun, Its really good to know that I have the support of my friends here. I love you guys and am very grateful for all the support that I get from my friends here. Its funny though when you go through something like this you find out who your real friends are. All the "friends" that I had close to me here ran for the hills the moment trouble started.

Erilyn sweetheart I am so sorry for all that you are going through and I do understand how you feel to a certain extent because I have been through several floods in my time! I so wish I could wrap my arms around you and make you feel safe - to help you realise that things , although they are very dark right now will get better. You know I will keep you in my heart and prayers, meantime is there no financial aid from the government that you can claim for? Is there no way that you can sue your former employer for discrimination - I am sure there are laws in place for that and they would probably settle out of court if they think they will get off lighter? Thank you mummymo, I have tried everything I can and I can't get much help since my Fiance makes too much money. We were making it before the car blew up, but when one thing happens its like everything wants to happen at once you know? I am going to try to have a yard sale this weekend to try and help, and we will go from there and see what happens. I think we can make it through this and hopefully soon get past it all. (((hugs)))

Erilyn..My prayers and heart are there for you with all thats going on..plus losing your Papou..i know how you feel since i lost mine and never got to say Goodbye..I'm sending you lots of healing to get through this and prayers to find ways to help you manage to pay rent and eat till the 15th..check out the food banks,local churches help those in need find cars and give out food..sometimes cash and take it and use it and let them know you will be ever greatful!

Thank you hun, I have gone through all the resources that I can and I hadn't had the chance to say goodbye to my popou, I didn't even know he was sick, I found out that he had been in hospice for the last week and they only gave him a few days to live. It's be heartbreaking that I havent' been able to do anything to help us out of this. My family has pretty much shunned me I have members of my family that can help but won't. They won't even take my phone calls thanks to my ex husband. My fiance makes too much money for us to get any help. I don't know what else to do at this point. (((hugs)))

"After dawn dusk has to come no matter what!" Believe in your self everything would be fine, trust me.
Try look at more distressed people than you, around you and get calm. People are in soo much misery, that we have to feel for the poor and realize that we are the blessed ones. Keep a cool head.

Thank you so much. One of my favorite sayings that I have written down on my fridge is the sun will still rise tomorrow. Its hard to keep that focused right now though. O know I am not the only one going through stuff like this and we will survive it by the grace of God.

You sound like the type of person who really would help others If she could... Sometimes when bad things happen to Good People, they happen for Good Reasons, at least that's the way I see it! :)

Thank you again. They do say when God closes the door he opens a window. I have faith that we will somehow get through this, and get beyond it. When we do we will be stronger for it. IT's kinda funny that last year for thanksgiving and Christmas we had donated dinners to families in need and here we are in the same position. Gives you a VERY different perspective on life.

Ouch Erilyn! Sweetie, gosh what can I say that will not sound hollow and empty... It's a bump in the road, a bad patch, we all have bad ruff patches in our lives. This will change. Things always get better. i am sorry you are going through all of this on top of being sick.

Thank you hun, It just seems like I can't catch a break. It has been so hard trying to figure everything out you know? and to top it all off I feel like I am not doing enough to help us get through this, and with my fiance stressed out he apperantly feels the same way. He said this morning that us getting through this far has to do with him and what he brought to the table. It's true. I just feel so utterly worthless right now you know?
