Do Yorkies Shed?

I am checking into different kinds of small lap dogs and someday soon hope to have one for a pet. It has been a long time since I have had a dog for a pet. How are Yorkies with small children? Do they shed?

my yorkie shed a bit. not too bad, we keep her hair cut short because if it gets too long then it gets in her eyes.

Yorkies can shed. I did not realize it until we got new furniture in the living room that absolutely attracts EVERYTHING but yes they do shed a bit. It depends on how long you keep their hair. We shave our yorkie every summer. The poor thing looks like a rat!
