Do people not know how to read signs and notices handed out? or LISTEN??

I just don't get it. This guy (family of mine) was handed a flyer about the fire ban in effect and told no fires in the campground when we checked in for camping. THEN turns around and has a fire despite the rest of us saying no dont its banned. He then complained when he gets a 500 dollar fine for it? He WAS told more than once he has no right to complain when hes putting others at risk. the fire bans are on FOR A REASON DUH. THEN We have a drop off desk at work for systems to be worked on. We also have a sign clearly stating Payments and purchases are processed at the desk to the right. Drop offs only. And it never fails that someone stands there and looks at me pointedly saying well I want to pay here. THEN gets mad at me when I say "sorry but, you'll need to come over here to use the pin pad" So they have to WALK OVER 15 feet to the INTERAC because they think they shouldn't have to walk over there. We made the cashier/receptionist desk in that sport where the plug ins are and so cords weren't strung across the floor for people carrying computers to trip on. There's a sign saying where payments are processed.

Some people are convinced, apparently, that rules don't apply to them. Fires are banned because they're endangering everyone within many, many miles, but what this guy wants comes first, to him. It seems as though more and more people act as though it would be a horrible sign of weakness to accept the way things are supposed to be. Maybe it's some sort of peprnicious game, and they figure, if they can get around the rules, they won. On the contrary, they're losers whose fallout taints us all!

That makes a lot of sense and is pretty sad for those that think like that to think that way. My theory is rules are there for a reason...sometimes a really stupid reason or really stupid rule but they are there. As an example of a stupid rule: facial hair isnt allowed on guys that work on an oil right. What guy is going to get his face close enough to moving parts to get his mustache or stubble stuck in the moving parts?? or no hats/hoods on an oil rig...uhhh I can see the point - hoods get caught in moving parts easily, much more easily than facial hair! But then they want to send those guys out there in -40 below weather and wonder why they want to wear hats and stuff. People who dont follow the rules just make it so theres other rules made for the rest of us who DO try to follow the rules. I admit theres a few rules i dont follow because i think theyre just plain dumb but when they are safety related...I do.

Thank you for the "best response". Maybe we should all carry some sel-stick Ls, and label these fools for the losers. They'd just get mad, but we could have a giggle at theirexpense!

Once in awhile I have a "duh" moment, not getting things read, but I would never do like your family member. I am not sure what to think of the people who come to your work, though. you would think thay would at least try to read the signs.

I'm never sure what to think of them either. I try to be nice though! It wouldst be good to be rude about it. I occasionally have duh moments as well, But i know things like fire bans are pretty major. - currently they are evacuating about 6 towns up north in Sask because of a forest fire.
