Hi lynnchua!
It depends!
To become a father one needs to be caring, loving, and understanding person. A young man is better in terms of sleepless nights when the child is sick. In terms of experience in rearing a child, an older man is better, but if a father's heart love his child and believes his child is the child of God, and he is just a foster father to him, then age doesn't matter in this situation.

I really don't think it matters a whole lot on a persons age, but more on their maturity. I have seen really good young fathers and not so good. I have seen the same with older men. It takes alot to be a good father to a child. I think alot of it comes from maturity and sincerity.

Hello, lynchua! The older man may make himself a better father but not necessarily be a good husband.thanx.

Nope! To me it all depends on the level of maturity and it has nothing to do with age! I've seen young men who are good fathers because they have developed a good sense of responsibility at early age. But I've seen men who are considered old at their age but still irresponsible father because they are selfish and cared not for their children.

I don't believe so... Also depends on what your idea of younger & older men are... I had my daughter at 29... She turned 8 in January... Few of my friends had their kids when they were way younger than I was... I know a single dad who just turned 39 & his oldest daughter turned 21 this year, & she's happily married & pregnant, due any day now... He'll be a grandfather before he turns 40... He's been nothing but a great father to his daughter...

i don't think so. i think there is no direct relationship between good father and his age. that totally depends on the person's character. i know there are some men who do not like children, then how can they become a good father even though they are old enough? if the man is responsible trust he will be a good father even though he is only 20, right?

Not always. Sometimes they do because they have seen more of Life, but sometimes they are as confused about children and raising them as a young man will be. I am raising my fifth child and, at 57, I know there are still lots of things about kids I do not understand

Not necessary. It all depends on the individual person. I don't believe age will determine whether he is a good father or not a good father.
A good father should know how to take care of the kids, loving them, providing them with enough basic necessities, being responsible, etc. Some young men can play the role of a father very well. Whereas some older men may not be able to do it.
Age is not the main factor to make him a good father or not, my view.
