What if the Salmonella didn't start with tomatoes?

Now the FDA thinks that Salmonella started with Salsa. That means tomatoes may not be the real culprit. In fact ANY of the ingredients may be the real cause and now they are just happening to find Salmonella in tomatoes.
What veggie do you think the FDA/USDA is going to ban next?

I heard this too...or actually they now think it was jalapeno peppers...The FDA isn't sure where the main source of this salmonella problem is...the food itself, the processing plant, the packaging, the shipping end of it...when are they going to get their act together and find out???? I mean here I am wanting to eat healthier and buy fresh foods, but am squimish not knowing when the next food will be listed with some contamination

well its like every other day i hear that its was then it wasnt tomatoes.. i dont think they really know.. they prob do know that it wasnt them but dont want to admit it because then they would look like fools.. it all comes down to the fact that they dropped the ball by only inspecting 10% of the quota they are suppose to and their irresponsibility is punishing us all.. as usual lol

I really don't think they will ever know exactly where it came from. I love tomatoes and did not buy the kinds they had mentioned. We are growing our own and I cannot wait until they ripen. There seems to be alot of food recalls these days.
