Do you keep notifications on so that when each of your freinds in mylot start a discussion you get notified? For me, its a yes and no.........do you know why? the notifications are soo overwhelming. Thanks my friends for the good work you do! What about you?

MyLot notifications are the only thing I allow. I made the mistake of taking a survey once and two hours later I began getting hundreds of emails. My spam alert was going like crazy. I must be honest and say that if a person keeps starting discussions that are ridiculous or contain no purpose, I have shut them off. I understand that people want to earn money. Sometimes it becomes too much because they write 2 or 3 lines of babble just to get credit for starting a discussion. To each their own. dl

I have all my friends email notifications turned to on. My emails aren't overwhelming though, only a few people in my friends are actually active, or at least only a handful are posting discussions.

hi kwenge!
i keep the notifications on for some of my friends here at myLot. usually those whose discussions are interesting for me. if i had only a few friends, then i would turn the notifications on for all of them. but i have a lot of friends in my list and if i turn the notifications for all of them, my free yahoo email won't like it.

Hello dear kwenge. It is always turned on after I have approved a new friend on my friendlist so that I can always have email notifications from them for their discussions and responses. Thank you.

I keep my notifications on for all my friends. So I get a good number of notifications in my mailbox considering I have more thann a 100 friends some of whom like to start a few new discussions everyday. That way I can just check in the inbox what I want to reply and what to delete.

Well, I don't know about the on/off thing, but I would sure appreciate some help. I am a newbie here, and have a severe vision impairment, so maybe I'm not finding what I am looking for.
Could someone please direct me to the area where one can start a new discussion, or post the link within a message?
thanks much

I don't use email notifications
anymore as they were too confusing,
time consuming and didn't help me
find the discussions that I really
wanted.
By the end of my first day
using notifications, I'd only
responded to 25 discussions, about
one fourth my daily goal.
