I have felt marker stains on a maple wood table top. Any suggestions on how to remove these?

I was so devasted when red dye from magazine cover stained my table. Toothpaste worked like magic. I then polished it with "cedar" and it is perfect. No scratch marks. Brilliant, thankyou.

That might stain it even more? I really don't know about that, but I guess they can try.

you might try murphy's soap. i've gotten a lot of ink based marks off with that. it's pretty gentle on the wood too.

Check out the cleaning aisle at your supermarket! A lot of times they have wood cleaners that will list various things that they can remove. Marker can be a difficult one, especially if it's permanent marker. If you can't get if off, you may have to sand the entire table and revarnish it.

Several things you can try that others have recommended were Off, Mineral Spirits (from Lowes or Home Depot), Magic Eraser ( but you may need to polish after). Hope this helps. Here is a link to other swho have had the same problem: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf788353.tip.html

Oooh. That's a tough one. if wiping it off with basic soap and water doesn't work, try using an eraser? But be gentle. Don't harm the wood.

Would soap and water do it? try that and then use some furniture polish. So it desn't look so dull.
