This happened so fast. I can not believe that it has been a whole month since Jenny had the operation to straighten her legs. We had the thirty day post surgery appointment yesterday and they took X-rays of her legs and said the bones were mending really good, she could start putting weight on her legs and she could start physical therapy right way. So they took her right up to the therapy room and had her practice walking using the parallel bars and then walking with a walker. She is able to walk limited amounts now so she does not have to be pushed around in the wheel chair all the time. And then this morning she was able to take a shower for the first time in a month. Jenny, of course, is going into this with her normal positive attitude and laughing at everything that is done to her. We all needs to adopt her attitude.

While I did not have the same problem as Jenny had, I did have surgery on my legs when I was very youg, followd by extensive physical therapy. I have an idea of what she is going through. I am not walking perfectly, but I am doing darn well, considerig the problems I had beore.

Jenny is our sixteen year old daughter, She has Cerebral Palsy and her legs have pointed in since she was small making it hard for her to walk.

That's fantastic news...hope she continues to do really well. She sounds like a happy positive girl and so I think she is probably a good example to all she meets.

Congrats to Jenny! I'm sure she'll be happy to be up and about soon. Being caged in a wheelchair all of the time is extremely frustrating, and it'll make life a lot easier for everyone. She sounds like an inspirational person. I'm sure she hasn't been completely comfortable through any of this, but I think it's pretty amazing that she's been able to keep such a good attitude! I hope her physical therapy goes brilliantly and things continue to go as well as they have!

Don't you just wish you could bottle her spirit, and give it out to poor souls who need a lift. You are right, it does not really seem like thirty days, although I am sure Jenny felt every minute of it. It must really do your heart good to see her progressing.

hello, thanks for the update, it is great to know that she is doing wonderfully on her therapy - we sure all need such spirit in our lives and hope others will learn from jenny the way i do. i always believe that a happy mind and a positive outlook can bring miracles in life. she is such a brave soul and i know she is doing her best to be normal and be able to walk like she wants to. how long will her therapy last? i wish her all the best and i hope she keep such outlook always. takecare
