If Your Star Rating Changes, Does It Bother You?

We all have star ratings here on Mylot after we've posted a certain amount of posts. In the beginning the star rating might be low. Truthfully, I had no idea what the star rating was and never really gave it any thought until I asked and got an explanation. After a while, your star rating probably will rise, but there are times when it also falls. Does this bother you at all and do you think it impacts your earnings at all. I never really understood how it was connected to earnings or even if it was connected. I am wondering though if it matters to others how they feel about their star rating.

I don't even have star so i don't worry about it but i think that when i get that star i still wont be worried about that. Some users write better posts or make discussions that are more interesting and they get star rating and some don't do that very good and they don't have star but still making new friend and money.

You will eventually earn a star rating. It will probably be low at first, but eventually rises as time goes on. Just keep posting and writing great posts, like this one.

I was just going to ask at what point you get your star rating, but I see that someone mentioned that it comes at 100... so, I guess I'll work my way up to 100 and see what kind of star rating I get. The star rating must be some sort of average or your ratings? Or what is it?

No, I can't say that it bothers me in the least. We're dealing with human beings who act within the realm of human nature. Some people will like you and what you have to say and some won't. That's fine with me. I expect it to rise and fall. It has done that many times in the year that I've been here.

I do the same thing when I rate someone. I don't really care if they agree with my views or not on a subject as long as the response is stating an opinion and not just someone trying to provoke a fight. Even then I very rarely rate a negative, I just don't rate them at all.

I agree with you on that. I do try to rate posts on content more than anything else though.

I'm pretty sure it dosen't have any impact on your earnings, the only thing the star mens is how well liked you are - I don't mind my number, actually I couldn't even tell you what my number is right now :)

I don't think it matters either. It's seems like it's based on popularity more than anything else, but maybe it encourages members to post more thoughtfully and more descriptively. Quality seems to make a huge impact here on Mylot.

I am really not bothered by a change in ratings. I the umber changes, it changes. Oh well, I still get paid, and I get paid really well on here, for the quality and quantity of work I am able to accomplish on this site. I'm not worried about ratings.

My star rating has been the same forever it seems. I think it probably would bother me to some extent if it were to go down because in my mind it would mean someone had given me a negative rating for whatever reason.

Mine has only risen but it will bother me if it falls. At least I would like to know why and it seems its hard to get explanations from this site. I do wish they would explain the payout system in more detail. You do things to earn more and get zilch and then are left wondering. This is not the first time I've seen people talk about the falling stars so I guess I'll have to look out for those.

I think there's a reason why things are so vague. In any event I try not to dwell on whatever that formula is and just post what I feel and leave the rest to fate.

while my friend the funny thing is I am struck on the nine stars for a long time now and so that thing doesn't bother me too much now. I think it will increase than it has to. It is this court which will be activated when I fulfil that equation. In the background I aim waiting for the chance but then I'm not too much concerned about the stars as I am getting heavily paid for what I'm posting here.

To tell you the truth I never think to look at my star rating. I don't think that it has any bearing on the earnings. right now I don't even know what my star is because I never really look at it. I know that a lot of people get upset if it goes down but it wouldn't bother me. It's like kids being popular in school as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly I do care a little if my star rating goes up or down. For me it is a nice feeling to see it go up. And it is a bit saddening to see it go down, even if it is only a point or 2. I don't know if the star rating has anything to do with earnings, though I have read from some others on here that it does not affect our earnings at all. But I wouldn't want to take the chance to find out as I like my blue 10 star.

So far my star rating hasn't change since I got it. I am so happy it is still like that. Of course I will worry because it simply means that I am not doing my best in here. I am a bit perfectionist. Though not a high achiever, I try to be as high as I can. take care =)

I would be really sad if my rating would go down. That means the myLot community is hating my contributions lately. I think I have worked for this rating and also thanks to my friends so it would really be a sad day when my star rating would go down. I want to know what you have found out when you said "until I asked and got an explanation". Please share what you have found out in a comment to this response. Thanks. I think the rating is indirectly connected to the earnings. MyLot wants us to contribute quality posts to this site, and I think the star rating is one of the factors that determine the quality of your contribution. I really am afraid when I am talking about star ratings because I am afraid that people will be envious of my star and would follow all my contributions and rate me negatively. It has happened once that my star rating goes down. But thanks to my friends for trusting me and after a week I gained it again. If my star would go down, I would be unhappy. But I hope, when it would go down, that is really the perception of the whole community and not just some of the members. Have a nice day!

To be honest, I almost never notice the ratings, including my own. I think last time I checked mine I had a 9. But really, though, I don't really pay attention to them. I prefer just reading what the person has to say and replying. You'll know if I like your topic/like you by the fact that I'm answering your questions/discussions, haha.

As a new-comer into Mylot, I am quite excited and raring to see a star rating appear for my account. I think, this is only the enthusiasm that is speaking and after some time when I get settled in more into Mylot, I may not see my stars at all. But, anyway it always makes you feel good to see that people appreciate you and the time & effort you are putting into these discussions.

As a beginner I do wished to have a Star Rating like others do but I am sure in the few days of course but what color or number my Star Rating be then that would be the start of a challenge either I can improved it or deminished my Star to low rate but I do hope it is not and i still do not have any idea on it if the Star Rating would certainly have connection with the earnings but I guess Not......

It doesn't bother me at all. First, it won't have a bad effect on my earning. Second, some people are not so nice and they like to rate others negative on purpose. So the star rating has no more meaning for me and I seldom care about it. I love China

Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much. I don't want people to give me negative ratings, but it isn't going to ruin my day if they do. I enjoy mylot, but it's everyone's right to rate the way they see fit.

The star rating does bother me a bit. I had a blue star some time back and then suddently it dropped down to 9 with a red star which has now got stuck for quite some time. I dont know if this has any impact on the earnings but even then there must be some reasons for my star rating to go down.
