I've found out that Aleve is good to take for aches and pains. The best pain reliever I like more than any of them is a topical blue cream called Blue-Emu. Its main ingredient is 10% menthol and I use it for my left knee at times when its bothering me. Blue-Emu seems to help me in other areas besides my knee though indirectly. It basicly makes me feel good all over. Plus it does not have the side effects that aleve has like increased chance of having high blood pressure. The only bad thing about it is it can iritate your eyes so I put it on outside where theres plenty of room to let the scent and smell to have room to spread away from me.

as i am in constant pain (and live in canada, where aleve isnt available) all i can take is tylonel (unless i want to go on narcotics) and for a topical rub, i switch between a535 and one that is called pensaid (which is a script).

I am quite a stubborn person. I don't usually take medicine right away. If the pain is bearable, I'd go for a massage. At home we have Omega pain killer, sort of menthol diluted cream. In the absence of Omega, there is Vics vapor rub. I would ask someone at home to massage me. They say massage can mobilize the bloodstream. Red blood carries oxygen with them and Oxygen is what is used by tissues in our bodies to do work. So the better bloodstream can enable your body to work efficiently. Also when you have too much ache from physical activity, lactic acid is deposited in those areas and the only way to get it out of your body is to either do physical activity again or have it mobilized through good bloodstreaming. So when lactic acid goes with the bloodstream, it goes to the urine and out it goes away from your body.

The menthol i've found is excellent for helping certain areas like my left knee that gives me problems sometimes. It really is not that bad I prefer it over pills as I think its more effecive with less side effects compared to nsaids. I know about the lactic acid because I learned about it from weight lifting such as when I do the barbell curls. Your arms are the last part of your body to fail so thats where lactic acid can occur the most from the burning sensation you can get. I know it sounds like torture but I like the feeling of being pumped.

I have rheumatoid arthritis, so my rheum Dr has me on 600mg of Ibupropen every 6 hours. It's so far over the normal dosage that I have to take special meds so that I don't get stomach ulcers from it. When that stuff doesn't feel like it's helping at all, I rub on Theragesic cream. That stuff is absolutely great and helps a good deal more than any other cream that I've tried. I don't like stuff like BenGay, IcyHot and stuff like that, it burns my skin more than anything. Theragesic is the only thing I've found that helps, and after you put it on, it sinks into the skin and then you can wash the odor away so nobody can smell it. My one friend suggested I try that Emu stuff, I'll have to look in to it. Good to know though about that it irritates the eyes.
