Where Did My Trampoline Go?

After the Storm. - My yard after the storm.

Well it ended up in the neighbors yard upside down....yes over the fence. That was one nasty storm that went thru. I stayed upstairs long enought to see the trampoline get blown away like a piece of trash then I went to the basement. Im not crazy like my dad I wasnt staying to get photos....plus you couldnt see anything at this point anyways it was so windy and rainy. Just a little hail not to much. I will admit I was a little scared this time. All is good here now my dad helped get my trampoline back thankfully and of course he took pictures lol. What do you do when there is too much damage after a storm for you to clean up?

So glad that you and the boys are ok and that your dad made his trip there safe. If he was taking pictures then I am sure we will get to see your damage. When we have damage my son usually gets out and takes care of it, if my husband isn't called out to work he will help him with it. You get your feet up now and let your dad do what he has to do.

I'm glad you are safe Minnie. It sounds pretty scary. We have had a few trees down but mostly limbs. They are still sitting there. My husband waiting for them to rot so they will be easier to move, lol. Fortunately they aren't real visible and not in the way.

Yeah my hubby works late so it will be awhile before the branches get cut up but they are moved so it looks better in my yard now. And the trampoline is back where it should be but needs some work.

Wow, that's really crazy, must have been some storm :-/ This is a bit off topic, but is that you pet racoon in your picture? Just wondering, because I've always wanted a racoon :)

Yes that is my raccoon. We found her as a baby alone on the freeway. I wouldnt recomend one as a pet they wil ruin your house. They are cute and can be loveable but they can get a bit mean sometimes.

Hi minnie_98214! Lucky you for having your dad around! Whenever, we have major storms/typhoons here in our area, we usually clean up as soon as the sky is clear. The families usually help each other in cleaning up and if it is really way, way too much, we will hire an extra hand if there will be a lot of heavy lifting needed. Take care and God bless!

Most my neighbors are at work except some of the moms but they arent much help as they tend to beleive in the thought that you need to take care of yourself only. They will come gossipp about what happened in your yard but they dont offer to help at all.

Five years ago I lived in rural Kentucky. A category zero tornado passed through the neighborhood. My neighbor (1/4 mile away) had his trampoline and class-C satellite dish end up on my hillside. Fortunately, when it crossed my property, it was nowhere near the house.

Vlad. Storms in Kentucky, Monsoon in AZ, you sure have a way of attracting weird weather. I wonder why it follows you.

When I lived in N.C. and also Georgia, I attracted drought. I lived on Cape Fear, which normally gets hit with at least one hurricane a year. The year I was there, it never rained. I moved to Atlanta and lived there for 7 years...it never rained there, either while I was there. Maybe I should have moved to Iowa to prevent the floods.

I am glad you got your trampoline back and there wasn't more damage. We have had some strong storms come thru here in the last few days. I don't have a basement, I wish I had specially for safety. We all went down the street last week and hung out in a neighbors garage, the storms were so bad. He has a garage that looks and is built like a storm shelter. I am sure your dad will have some pics to show. He let us know where he was going before he left for your house. Its good you still have power.

We have had some nasty storms here this week also. The wind was blowing so hard that we thought it was going to break our trees. They were leaning towards the ground really bad. We have had some bad ones in the past and we had alot of hail damage. We had to turn it into our insurance company because of all of the damage.

WE had a bit of a storm here yesterday - no not a weather storm but my 5 year old foster nephew and it took my other half a good hour to clear up the garden and broken play shed window after he left! I am glad that AGB was there to help you clear up and not off storm chasing! xxx

I really cannot bear to think about it! The 2 girls were painting nicely and he decided to spread 2 whole bottles over the play shed floor and inner walls and knock the window out, luckily it is plastic! LOL At least you kept AGB out of trouble and gave him something to take pictures of! xxx

Thank God for dear ol' Dad !!! He's a whole lot braver than me. He does take awesome pictures but I'd be too scared to even hold the camera. I don't know if insurance covers damages. In some parts of the world when the damages are extensive and too much to clean yourself they send out disaster services to clean up, however in other parts of the globe these circumstances are classed as an act of God and there is no help for that. The main thing Minnie is that your whole family is fine. I felt worried for you being so scared and pregnant. Not a good mixture I'm sure. Take Care!!!Stay safe!!!

That must have been some storm you went through, but at least you have more sense then your dad and didn't rush out to take pictures..heeheee...oh, well I'm a bit of a camera nutcase too...one time when my mother and I were in Florida years ago, there was a "min" hurricane...uh, guess who was out in it taking pictures? Hehe We're fortunate here that we haven't had really horrible storms...uh, yet...though some months ago a tornado actually hit the Brooklyn area of NYC and we felt the winds of it from where I am in the Queens section of NYC. God forbid but can you ever imagine the wreckage if there was ever a tornado in the middle of Manhattan?? With all those skyscrapers? LOve your avatar and Missy...how is she behaving?

When I lived in Puerto Rico, I remember we use to get a lot of tropical storms and sometimes those things could be deadly...cause a lot of damage, etc. Since I was little I don't recall what my parents did to recover. The last major storm I was in was huricane Hugo in 1989; in Puerto Rico. It was awful. Although at the time I was 15/16, I thought it was exciting because school was closed, there were all sorts of crap in the streets, trees knocked down, power lines down, sparks all over the place. The house we lived in at the time wasn't badly damaged, but I knew of some that were. It was quite scary. As an adult, I wouldn't know where to start.

That is rather terrifying. I have never been in a really bad storm, the most that ever happens in my house if we loose a couple of tiles that makes the roof leak, so we have to go up into the loft and place buckets until we get the holes fixed up.
