July 30th is the day I have the ultra sound that will let me know if our second child will be another wonderful daughter or son. I can hardly wait. Just curious how many of you parents out there decided to be surprised by your new arrivals? And how many wanted to know?

I really wanted to know what I was going to have so I could be prepared when it was born. My family wanted me to wait so that was what I did. I had to then hurry up and buy some odds and ends after the baby was born. I wanted a boy but had a beautiful baby girl. I thought raising a boy would be easier for me. I'm not really sure though. My baby girl likes to test me also. Good luck with your new baby.

Hi, Steph, I was thinking about you the other day! How have you been? I hope all is well! I happen to see you in the discussion, so I decided to say hi.

Haven't picked names yet. Leaning toward Jr. after my hubby for a boy though. Unless I find something we like better.

Well it is not far off now I can't wait to see either what you will be blessed with. I bet it is a boy.. you should have a poll who ever gets it right whens..also on the date of your delivery when the time comes closer..I would never want to be surprised because I would want to be prepared and have everything prepared for my childs first day at home from the hospital. I know they are colors that you can get and have clothing there and all..I heard a old wives tell though that yellow might make your baby cry more when it has that color on. I don't know if it is tru or not..that also goes for the room painted that color. My brother was told he was to have a girl and bought all gorl stuff and my sister in law was told she was having a boy and bought all boy stuff and weird thing about it is that they both had their babies same month, year and just a few days apart but in different states and neither got what they were promised.. my sister in law had a girl and my brother and his wife had a boy.

I can see that you are really looking forward to having your ultra sound and then finding out if you are having a boy or a girl. Good luck and I hope that your scan goes really well. When I was pregnant with my first baby the hospital had the policy to not tell the gender. He turned out to be a boy and I found this out the day he was born. He is now 13 years old. When I was pregnant with my second baby I had a private gender scan at 17 weeks pregnancy. I was told that I was expecting a little boy. At 20 weeks I had a hospital scan and that confirmed that it was a boy. So it was no surprise when he was born. He is now 14 months old. One day I dearly hope that have a little girl. Have a wonderful scan and perhaps you will be able to get some pictures.

I found out with my daughter, but with my son they could not tell during the ultrasound if it was a boy or a girl. I just knew he was a boy though. I did not even really try to pick out a girl name.

I would prefer to know. I know other people have other opinions. There is no great joy to me in a 'surprise.' I would prefer to know and to plan accordingly.

When I was pregnant I had my ultrasound done really early in the pregnancy before any s. organs were developed. They kept telling me throughout the whole pregnancy that the heartbeat sounded like a girl. I was fairly certain the baby would be a girl and bought a bib that said Amy. Our son Robert was born a few weeks later. You never know what your going to get from a heartbeat! Good Luck with your new arrival.

I was surprised.. I wasn't disappointed in any way.. I would have loved to have a girl but it wasn't meant to be, I only had the one boy, but I have enjoyed him for 27 years, more or less, some days less.. I wish you luck and hope the baby is whatever you would like for it to be, but either way, you are a winner..
