Parents how will you react to this? Your teenage daughter came home late and smells beer. What will you do? You'll get angry at once or you keep calm and wait for the next day to confront her?

I would want to know what went on right then and there. I would not give her a chance to make up a good story before hand. My kids are grown now and I have dealth with many of these problems.

I know that it's frustrating but for me as i always do to my husband i wait for the next day to confront her.I will ask who is with her?Where did she do it?Why and if i already accumulated enough information then i will give a punishment to her.Its better to implement a punishment because in that way the child will not do it again and also learn that its not good to do it.And advice her if its the peers who encourage her i would slowly discourage her to go to that kind of persons.

Yes, we should know who are with her and if we think that they would be a bad influence to her, put a stop to it. Give her more attention. Explain the consequences if she will not obey. Thanks for your comment.

i probably would flip out right then and there. she would lose her cell phone(if she had one) and pretty much all rights she has. i want my kids to be responsible. i guess it would depend on the situation. i know how hard it is to resist when your friends pressure you. my parents did a good job helping me have the strength to say no, i hope i can do that for my kids.

It's really a big responsibility for us parents to have a responsible children. So, let's always guide them especially the early years of our kids. We should always spent quality time with them.

You wait until the next day. Getting angry solves nothing.

You're right then, but it's really very hard to control one's emotion.
