Your TV Hours.....What do you Watch.....Reality Shows or Soaps

I watch the television everyday when having my dinner. That seems to be the only time I get to watch the tv. And first I watch the news channels and after that may be some music channels.

Yep I'm a TV addict, and don't care. LOL The thing gets turned on in the morning and runs all day until I go to bed late at night. Even now its running in the next room. I can listen and do this. See I'm home most days, and often alone, so its "company" to me. I never watch soaps or talk shows - dispise the things and think they are a waste of time. My personal life has been enough of a soap opera in the past, I don't need to watch one made up! I watch animal planet, discovery channel, TLC, Scifi, weather channel and even Spike. What can I say - I like action shows. LOL

For once I don’t clash with my hubby on TV time (thank God)…none of us are TV watchers really and except for some informative channels and sports and news, for the most part I find the name ‘idiot box’ extremely apt. and the best part is that we both love sports and info channels so we watch together. Other than this, I clash with my son over his cartoon channels but since he has so little time for TV, I let go most of the time. Regarding reality shows, I keep off them completely. I think they are a very vulgar and manipulative means of pitting people against each other and making pots of money out of the ensuing fights.

Hi Dear i am not much into TV myself, and differnt kind of shows are always on in our house, if i am at my fathers room, its always news bulletion and differnt analyst sharing their BEST OF KNOWLEDGE, or Cricket Matches in TV lounge its any drama, or dance or music show, what u narrate as reality show, in our room, before kids and when kid was about one and half year, i used to watch some time HBO or Star Movies, while my wife watch some drama, but since last one and half year, its Baby TV, or Cartoon net work i dont watch TV regularly, i dont have any fav prog and sure i can live without TV Take care

There's nothing worth wasting my time to watch on prime time local channels nearly all day. I looked this morning for the first time in a long time and not a single thing was worth wasting my time. I'd be better off taking an early nap - I do watch 3 soaps during the day but they are just so boring these days, I usually only do it for a bit of "talk" after being alone all day! Then there is nothing else on. I watch an hour of news every day at 4 or 6 and then TVland or HGTV of FoodNetwork or history channels, but still.. many reruns I have seen and sometimes just about something I am not interested, in. I have recently been watching hte sales at Amazon.com for box sets of the sitcoms from the 60's and 70's...back when tv was fun, enjoyable and a family function kind of thing - when the shows were hilarious and not full of nothing but who's sleeping with whom. I am considering cancelling my tv - I would like to keep just local channels for news and such, but the rest - if I really want to watch it I cna watch it on internet. I bought Gomer Pyle USMC nad literally laughed till I couldn't breath! THen I got Newhart and again, hysterically laughing - Bob is the funniest! I have the I Love Lucy set - (a big fan anyway!) and got the Andy Griffith Show, Mary Tyler Moore show - and literally just laugh all the time, so I thihnk I have found my fun! There just isn't anything on tv anymore but blood, guts, gore and s*x.

yes i am one of those TV addicts who mostly watches reality shows. cant stand watching soaps :P and well, if there was no tv....i dont think i will be able to manage .

Hi nupats, I do watch TV exclusively to watch news and some times movies which I feel good. More than this I will not watch any other programme on TV. Good Luck.

I'm very selective. I watch House, New Amsterdam and Grey's Anatomy and that's 3 hours a week. Occasionally I'll watch a movie that I've recorded but my tv viewing hours are less than 5 per week. I hate reality shows, I want escape when I watch tv! Isn't it strange how tv draws men in and they become slaves to it? The first thing my ex husband always did and still does is turn on the idiot box when he gets up in the morning or comes home from work. Men seem to be addicted to it.

I am not as such addicted to tv but i do spend some time wathing some news channels. If i get bored, i switch over to reality shows or some informative channels n sports. I hate Daily soaps .. They are simply irritating.
